The dreaded apartment inspection

Bro's.. I have lived in this place for over 3 years. Today I get a notice that on Monday they will be inspecting apartments for the mortgage company that holds the note. The mortgage rep will be accompanied by either someone from management or maintenance. They say it will be quick.

I feel sick to my stomach :)

If you look in my spare bedroom you will see my 3x3 tent with noisy fan and venting running every which way. Plus I have a small veg chamber. I read over the lease and it doesn't mention MMJ. I can't take too many chances though.

I am 47 days into flower on 4 beauties. They really stink with lights on when I open the tent door. Probably smell pretty bad with lights off also. I do have a closet, but the tent won't fit in there.

What If I put them in a big box in the closet,seal up the box really well, hook up the carbon filter to scrub the air inside the closet and then close the closet door and also cook some garlic and onions? I seriously doubt they will open the closet door and I'll put my surfboards in front of the door.

It's either that or harvest now, but I'd be giving up on a lot of weight and good trichomes. A few ounces of weed isn't worth getting evicted though.

I live in Cali and have my papers in order.

I had two inspections, one from the electricity guy and one from the house owner. I have a room with 3 growboxes.

I shut down everything (lights, venting, ... ) and closed all boxes right before the visits. Nothing happen :)

And we're full illegal here !

But still ...

You said your papers are in order and lease doesn't mention it? Sounds fine to me. I'll be facing a similar situation here in Oregon during next inspection, not planning to even move my tent.

I had maintenance guys turn up at my door with orders from my landlord to fix some shit, I didn't have much time to hide things so I covered it in cardboard that I had lying around from some stuff I moved in from storage and turned the fans and stuff off (thank god the lights were already off) and they didn't notice a thing. They made a couple jokes about how messy it was but who gives a fuck, so long as it doesn't look obviously suspicious and there's no noise coming from it you'll be fine. Putting your surfboards in front of them will give you some peace of mind when they're walking round your place though if you're the type to get nervous. Should be fine either way really and you're legal anyway and they don't mention it in the lease so you should be totally fine, I understand your wanting to keep it on the down low still though I would too.

Hey bro I get inspection s all the time I went to Walmart n I bought 4 big bins with lids if the plants don't fit I take another flip it n put onctop of other bin n tape it once plants in there then I hide it in my closet but I take my tent n all down just to be safe also I have a deep freezer I don't use so I put a few plants in there n close the lid n that works good well good luck hope everything goes well

At OP, reread your lease, most have a claus saying you will obey all laws, local, state, and federal. Illegal on fed level, so they can use that as a lease breaker if they want.
Good luck! The closet sounds like your best bet. Or put everything in the bathroom and tell them your girlfriend is puking and has diarrhea, pretty sure she has the flu. Maybe run the shower so it sounds like she cleaning up.

If it doesn't mention it in the lease and you're a legal grower than the most they'll do is say that they would like you to discontinue doing so. Just hide that shit and set a nice big bag of weed on the table, that'll explain the smell haha it's just your medicine, they can't tell you not to take your medicine.

Yea, my tent doesn't fit in the closet since the door to the closet is only 24 inches and swings in..

Here is what I decided? Since the ladies in the office are a bunch of old hens I don't want them to know anything about what I do. Yea, I could fight it, but maybe they don't renew my lease or try to evict me. Not worth the risk. Moving is expensive. The less they know the better.

I made a smaller tent out of pvc and thick plastic sheeting that fits in the closet. I'll seal this up really well.I'll also run my fan and filter in the closet. They are scheduled to come on tuesday so monday night I'll put the plants in the tent in the closet and run a few CFL's in there so as not to interrupt the light cycle. I'll also take down the tent and stash all that stuff in the closet. Then I'll close the door and stack a bunch of storage bins in front of the door.

I was thinking of installing a locking doorknob and if they ask I can just say I don't have the key on me and that I keep valuables in there but left the key at work. This is a high crime neighborhood so that might make sense to them.

I was also thinking of saying that I keep my guns in there, but that's probably another pain in the ass I don't need :)

I may have to scale things back after this episode. Just scrog one plant in a tent that I keep in the closet and just shut the door if they make any more surprise visits.

I been through this shit a couple times when the landlord wants to come snoop around i have 2 entire rooms fucked up, illegal as fuck wiring, holes in the ceiling for venting etc..

just tear it down and pile it with boxes and shit from the floor to ceiling piles so much they can barely get the door open, explain to them that you buy storage lockers or that your a hoarder, normally this will change the convo to something else cause their like wow this dude is fucking nuts.

luckily moved into a privately owned house and no more inspections.
