So...I "know a guy" that has constructed a masterpiece of homeostasis. This room is 4x8X8. All the walls and floors have been fiberglassed in with a high glass vinylester resin with wax in it. The walls are insulated with R-19. The floor has two pieces of ply in between which is dynamat for insulation and sound control. Irrigation lines are run down the walls and come out 0.5 meters above the floor. The glassing is done in such a way that the system is a watr tight, nearly air tight, tank. His initial plan was 24, 20 liter buckets. This morning he thought...hmm if his tank is water tight mabey the buckets should be scrapped and just fill the bottom with soil. But he figured before attemting such an undertaking he better check with the RIU team to see if this idea is feasible. He would fill the bottom up to the irrigation lines with ocean forest and perlite.
Just a little bragging rights...2 1000watt HPS, CO2 injection on the ceiling, filtered city water through misters on the walls at aprox 1 meter. Entance is through a hatch on the ceiling via ladder. Give him some feed back on the bucketLESS grow.
Cheers...good responses will be rewarded with pictures of his masterpiece...
