The economy is doing great in the midwest, many good paying jobs compared to a few years ago. I'm going to try buying weed stocks but I really don't know what I'm doing with stocks.

EPS is earnings per share. It's used essentially in the same manner as a dividend to tell you what a stock has made for you.
It is in the end a useless metric because if you owned 1000 shares of Google, you've lost 100,000 dollars of value on a stock that only made you a total of 12,770 dollars.
