The economy is booming!

Easy peasy. Funny story about a middle age man I know who got laid off from FedEx a couple months ago. Middle management with a master's. Salary north of $100k. He is running out of medical in a month. 6 months salary and benefits. He is having a tough time finding anything at half wages. GM and others are slashing middle management. So these new jobs are not paying as well, mostly. Truck drivers are in demand! Yeehaw!

It sucks that I'm regulated by FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and they only allow me to work 70 hours in 8 days then I have to take a 34 hour reset. I usually get 65-70 hours in 5-6 days though. I can only be on duty 14 hours a day with 11 hours being drive time. I'd work more if I could.

Shhh. You can always become an oil field business, 120 hrs a week when it was booming.

Drive 8 hrs to location, 10 hrs to setup a pump job, 5 hr to it tare down, 5 hrs to another location 5 hrs to set up.

The Oil Industry will abuse you with uncle sam's help.
