I just have to add the original rock drum solo! I remember it well, because it was a 17 minute song, with a 5 minute drum solo, and that was unheard of before then.

I loved in concert drum solos. It was the time to head to the arena rafters and toke up w/o fear of missing any good parts of the show. 
They did some good stuff beside In a Gadda. But their best contribution to great rock was two members - bassist Lee Dorman and guitarist 'Rhino' - forming Captain Beyond w/ drummer Bobby Caldwell and ex Deep Purple vocalist Rod Evans. Those cats made an extraordinary debut LP that I still argue as the one 'desert island' LP of all time.Ina gadda da vida by Iron Butterfly, a band from right here in San Diego!

Its so linked to that movie now, Casino. Ginger Baker was a brawler on the drums though. Certain members of Rolling Stones
said Bonham was heavy handed. No Ginger was heavy handed... in the best way.
