the great state of ny

Im in western ny and we've been getting some really shitty weather. Its been cold and rainy for a week and a half now and the slugs are starting to get at my babies. I just tried putting a layer of salt around my pot to kill those bastards. We'll see what happens

Slugs left here like 2 months ago, but did some real damage!! This cold is killing me though, hope we can all mature before the frost!!

Pics are here: Just started budding 1.5weeks ago... https://www.rollitup.org/outdoor-growing/235352-8-24-first-signes-bud.html

First grow, first post. I've got 3 female Blue Dream plants going right now. Each is over 6 ft tall. They started to bud about 2 weeks ago. I can't say that I've been incredibly involved in their development, other then keeping them private, watering them, and occassionally giving them food. I have them in 3 gallon pots with generic miracle grow type soil. When they started to bud I did begin with foxfarms big bloom nute. I feed them almost every day. Is this too much? The bottle says to feed with evey watering. It also says you cannot burn plant with "big bloom". True?
Also, what sort yield can u expect from 3 six footers? They are not terribly bushy, but are substantial. I will post pics when I get around to it.

Hi everybody! first post, first grow. I agree this site needed a ny growers forum. I got an outdoor grow, started with 5 plants, only 2 left. Bagseed, dont know strains. 1 is pushing 6ft the other 4.5ft. The tall lady is flowering nicely i think, smaller one is bushier and lagging behind in flowers, obviously a different strain. I put them in the ground in late June and have been taking good care of them. Ive been out of work with an injury since march and just had back surgery, so this has been a great hobby, time killer, and learning experience for me. They never got topped off or tied down, just let to grow. They started flowering abt third wk of august, and i feed them monster bloom abt every 5 days or so, and every other day they get water with molasses. As this is my first grow, I have no basis for comparison, and the pics I see here make me jealous. Im told that it doesnt really matter what seeds you start with, if you show love you'll get rewarded, so that's what I'm doing. I have had no bug or rot problem yet (knock on wood). It's been hard for me to not over fertilize, but lots of people, including my bro who has experience growing outdoors tell me not to, to just let nature take it's course, so I do that, but they don't look like some of the pics I see here, and it's hard. I'm just hoping for some type of harvest, and I'll take this year as a learning experience, and perhaps start an indoor grow this winter. Gonna get a camera this weekend and will post pics soon. Thanks, and keep on tokin'!

I'm in wny too. Shitty weather. It sounds like I should count my blessings I have had no bug problems. I put mine in the ground at abt. 1ft. Don't know if it matters. I'm VERY proud of myself, but at the same time I still expect something bad to happen to ruin everything and kill them before I am ready to harvest. Don't wanna get too excited. Bad thing abt bagseed is that I have 2 different types that are clearly going to finish at different times. Oh well, not bad for a beginner:mrgreen:!

Hello everybody. First post for me. Glad I found this forum. Lots of usefull info as I am growing outdoors for the first time in NY. Seems like it's getting so tough to find herb to buy in NY that it makes more sense to grow your own. Not to mention the price gouging.
Peace.

Well morning all. Just fed and watered my girls. I'm not sure, but I would have thought that my bigger budding girl would be a little stinky right now, but she doesn't really smell at all. The shorter, stocky girl has more of a smell and that's not much either. I think quality wise that shorty is gonna be better. I guess it's genetics, 'cause I have no idea what type it is. Bagseed. Can't wait to get a camera and post pics.
