The last Sunday weekly update
I flushed her yesterday, for the first and last time, with 1 liter pH-ed water. It only took about 45 mins lol damn this cup drains slow . I mixed like 5 drops of tiger bloom with last 100ml water at the end, didn't want her to starve to death..

A couple closeups I took using an old loupe I found

Yeah, she is almost done.. Pretty nice btw...
Those tiny flowers are all already fully bloated up and most hairs are already brown. There are always a few white hairs left when it's time to cut them.
I give a shit on what's mentioned in the seed description and always harvest when the plants are on point.

My harvest got the 2nd leaf trim today and is now in the paper bag. A little early but we have up to 27°C currently and I don't want to dry them too fast. Still 75g but its far from being dry enough. And the humidity is just so low because I've added it right before I've taken the picture. Is probably still ~70%..
2nd dry trim today.jpg

I've closed the bag using a clips on each side so the moisture can only evaporate thru the paper.

Got a nice black piece of scissor hash I'll safe for tomorrow morning. Looks bigger like it is... Actually only 0,3g, lol!
But just enough for a first smoke report..
Some scissor hash from 2nd trim.jpg

The other 2 girls are still alive and show some nice purpleling, should be done in 2 or 3 days. Lots of foxtailing because of the coolwhite sidelights..

No2 and 3 still alive.jpg

@Randomblame how long since you chopped?
I like that you're using paper bags, I do that too, but only for last couple days of drying. Hang up the whole plant for a week minus the fans, if there's any left lol
I think 75 g is one hack of a harvest from a party cup

The reason why I never used paper bags is because you have to chop up the plant into little nugs. I mean you can use the big paper bags or sheets of paper but I find it better to dry the plant whole. The slower the dry, in the right conditions, the better.
I usually chop the plant whole and hang whole but sometimes I chop the plant into its individual branches, if I have to, and dont even take off the fan leafs either. I read somewhere that doing this makes the drying stage last longer since the moisture is leaving only through one point (the spot you took the scissors to it) instead of through every cut you made while trimming.

Leaving the fans on will definitely prolong the drying period, you just gotta watch out for leaves wrapping the buds and inviting mold
I usually can't wait that long to dry. Some day I will grow enough to dry for 2-3 weeks and cure for 2-3 months before I start nibbling

Have chopped her last wednesday so 4 days between 1st the 2nd trim. Its just too warm here already and I want to slow down the drying process. I assume around half the moisture has already evaporated.
This probably dutch paperbag methode is fool proof and even the dumbest honk can get nice and sweet results.
I do this always which means I've started using it +30 years ago! Its the most used method her in the EU and I've at 1st seen it in Amsterdam's cannabis museum back in the late 80's when I started growing myself. This method is probably known since before the 60's and even Jack Herer has mentioned this dutch method in his books. Jorge Cerventes too!

If you for instance visit the official Greenhouse Seeds website and search the original Supersilverhaze strain and read the description you'll find a video showing how you get the highest potency out of this nstrain. And what shall I say... at the end they are using exactly these paper bag technique for curing.

You don't need to cut the plant into smaller parts when using this method. You start like always with the plants hanging upside down. Trimmed or not makes no difference, the plant will evaporate the most water thru the stomatal openings.
It would take forever if the water would evaporate only thru the cuts. But it goes faster the more plant material is removed.

Usually I just remove all the fan leaves and the smaller bud leaves with no trichomes and hang the plants upside down. Right before the twigs break with a cracking noise its time for a 2nd trim to remove those tiny bud leaves, snip the buds off of the main stem and put it in the paper bags. You can put twigs in the bags too if the bag is big enough.
The thickest brown ones are perfect.
Close the bag and hang it to a dark spot with ambient temps ~18-20°C/65-68°F and 50-60% RH. I usually repack the bags weekly to make sure the buds dries out evenly.
Do not pack too tight and only fill the bags to 30-40% to leave enough air in the bags.
I bet 80% of the dutch weed is still dried using this method cuz it's KISS style par excellence.
Pretty sure 80-90% of the coffeeshop weed is still dried this way.
Weed tastes much much better when all the chlorophyll is converted into sugars and the longer the drying takes the better it tastes. As long as there is some water inside the tissue the microbes can do their things. The converting process stops when there is not enough water for the microbes to survive.
Try it out, brother!

When you have enough time put the bag in an additional card box and carry it in the coldest zone of the basement. Leave it there for at least 2 or 3 month and no worry, bro, it will not dry out too far. The paper membrane avoids that.
The nugs will still have a good consistency and enough residue moisture. Sometimes I do this only with the most potent top colas of a strain to create weed you could submit for the high times cannabis cup.

Thank you for sharing this man
Think I'm going to give it a try. Have 3 plants to harvest tomorrow, including the lanky party cup girl
Do you not use glass jars at all?
