I don't agree, and anyways, being honest is important to me. Playing mindfuck games with my kids doesn't sound like a whole lot of fun. You're kids will only be 90% happy during Christmas...

Well I feel sorry for you,and any children you may have to take such a magical time away from them is very sad, and you don't have to be so rude to people that don't agree with you, your showing signs of your immaturity and its not nice.We are taught to reach kids that Santa exists, and then for our kids happiness, and to then keepo them haooy, we have to buy shit to make them think that Santa came. Who would have thought. Imagine a world where we didn't teach our kids about Santa clause and as such didn't have to buy pointless crap for them. You bunch of suckers.
Depends how you think about it. They may be 100% happy one way but think of how happy they would be if they got to experience believing in Santa, most kidd don't cry and moan because they eventually figure it out themselves, and by then it's all about the presents.I don't agree, and anyways, being honest is important to me. Thank you for your input cn, it was the same in my house I don't think anyone's been hurt by believing in Father Christmas just the opposite in fact it leaves you with good memories.I do have kids, and left the entire Christmas story to the relatives, and kept my own nonbelief on the sidelines. My son loved it. My daughter, always the skeptic, didn't buy it for a second. Even so, I told them about my childhood, in which it was the Christ-child who brought the presents while the downstairs living room was OFF LIMITS with suspiciously parental-sounding noises of tree-trimming and gift emplacement. I was lucky, I guess ... they had the fun and experienced no trauma when the game of Pretend was gently abandoned. cn
I've never had a fancy Christmas, growing up poor, I've never gotton the hottest toys or video games, and even knowing this I still loged Christmas, and most smaller kids will love he box more than the actual toy lol. It all depends on how you were raised, I knew my mom was trying so that's why I was always satisfied with my presents. My immaturity' for not being coerced by society into spending money. Lol. There are plenty if ways to make a child happy aside from being made a fool and being a sheep. Please explain to me why I would cekebreate Christmas in the Christian manner if we are not Christians? I do not celebrate Christmas in the "normal" fashion, and you know what, we have a great time
Magical? you are old enough to know better. It is a commercial opportunity to grab money from you under the premise that this is what must be done. I apologise for having principals, and not bowing to peer pressure to create a lie for my children.
You mean up until they learnt that it was all a lie. That is what this thread is about isn't it?Thank you for your input cn, it was the same in my house I don't think anyone's been hurt by believing in Father Christmas just the opposite in fact it leaves you with good memories.

Its not magical, its a lie to extract money from you
Doesn't matter the amount. My parents are frightfuly rich, but Christmas has always been very low key. Doesn't matter the amount spent be it an iPad or a ball of wool, people are fooled into thinking they are required to spend money because it is Christmas. I'll buy people presents because I feel like buying them a present, not because its Christmas and I'm supposed to.I've never had a fancy Christmas, growing up poor, I've never gotton the hottest toys or video games, and even knowing this I still loged Christmas, and most smaller kids will love he box more than the actual toy lol. Well iam from a large family I have three brothers who are not Christians, their children were all brought up believing in Father Christmas, visiting him in his grotto and thinking he had bought them presents on Christmas morning. These children are now adults and they don't believe in god either but they carry on the belief in Father Christmas to their children, I'm glad you have a good Christmas with your family that's the way it should be, Christmas consists of decorations, turkey, presents, family gatherings and farther Christmas, I don't expect you to go to church and say your prayers and thank god for the food that's in front of you, all I'm saying is Christmas in the" normal" fashion"usually involves Father Christmas and that's just or the kids it's like believing in fairies or Easter bunny. I'm not trying to pick a fight with you I'm just pointing out what it's like seeing a child's face when they meet Father Christmas. My immaturity' for not being coerced by society into spending money. I see it otherwise. The thread is about a spoilsport being a right bell end in my opinion. You mean up until they learnt that it was all a lie. That is what this thread is about isn't it?
Consumers are still smart, when you grow up, people start buying because it's tradition but yes some people just don't care for spending anything, but I wouldn't call someone a fool for spending money (of they really can afford it) they could buy whatever they get for themselves but when you're an adult it's just more fun surprising everyone and being surprised. Nothing wrong with enjoying it differently tho.Doesn't matter the amount. My parents are frightfuly rich, but Christmas has always been very low key. This is the problem, every year many go further in debt trying to keep Christmas alive for their kids.Consumers are still smart, when you grow up, people start buying because it's tradition but yes some people just don't care for spending anything, but I wouldn't call someone a fool for spending money (of they really can afford it) they could buy whatever they get for themselves but when you're an adult it's just more fun surprising everyone and being surprised. The simple solution would be inexpensive gifts. There's nowt wrong with getting a bar of chocolate imo. cnThis is the problem, every year many go further in debt trying to keep Christmas alive for their kids.
regards,
Yeah, THOSE people are fools lol. This is the problem, every year many go further in debt trying to keep Christmas alive for their kids.

Christmas does not consist of presents. As I said, you're being taken for a fool. Were led to thinking that it is due tithe three kings. Father Christmas is about presents, stockings. Giving corporations your money. Christmas should be about family, nothing more.Well iam from a large family I have three brothers who are not Christians, their children were all brought up believing in Father Christmas, visiting him in his grotto and thinking he had bought them presents on Christmas morning.
