If this is true then how do you explain nute burn up to the point of being toxic. I've seen plants die from this.
Once mineralic nute is dissolved in water a plant has very little control to not absorb it because the evaporation feed will suck the water-nute mix in.

As far as nutrient burn what you are seeing can be many things....
Most often its because the nutrient delivery type is imbalanced.
Plants are efficiency machines...they will always eat what is readily avialable. Nutrients competes for absorption at the root level. If you plant is efficiently absorbing one nutrient it is also ineffciently absorbing another....this is why growers utilize pH swings to make nutients readily available but this does not imply you are feeding the plant...its simply eating whats readily avialable...cutting hairs but it matters
It is your job to make sure it has what it needs. If you are not supplying the right nutrients and or havent properly amended your soil correctly of course, you will see deficiencies and toxicity
Nute burn is an outcome not the source of the issue...
