So much ocean, so little time. I've always been very much a niche diver, preferring to spend my time camping and diving along the PNW coast. The only other places I've been are Baja and Florida Keys. Nothing like what you are talking about though. The cold water marine ecosystem in the PNW is loaded with life, more so than the clear and warm waters that most prefer. It requires a different mindset to enjoy though. I'm not knocking destination resort diving though. If my wife could dive -- she can't clear her ears well enough to dive comfortably or safely -- then I'd definitely go with her. As it is, we do trips together that don't include diving. White water rafting is another passion of mine and we've done many trips together over the years. So, like I said, I just don't have the time to sea it all.Have you been to Indonesia or the Philippines?
