FUCK YEAH!!!!!

I was saying that this needed to be done from the moment I seen the first movie...The Fellowship of the Ring. Now it's going to happen!!!!!!

The two “Hobbit” films – “The Hobbit” and its sequel – are scheduled to be shot simultaneously, with pre-production beginning as soon as possible. Principal photography is tentatively set for a 2009 start, with the intention of “The Hobbit” release slated for 2010 and its sequel the following year, in 2011.

UUUMMM yeah...The Lord of the Rings:neutral:

The second part is going to deal with what happened in between The Hobbit and The Fellowship of the Ring. All this info can be found in the book Tolkein wrote that was like appendices (spelling?) to the whole Middle Earth saga. I have this book at home but I cannot remeber the name of it.

That's not really the sequel.
But I know what you mean, I just misunderstood and thought there was another book I hadnt heard about.

But there seem to be appearing 2 movies?

"Unfinished Tales" is the name of it.
'Unfinished Tales', as the title aptly suggests, is a collection of Tolkien's 'expanded' Middle Earth stories (mostly longer versions of tales from The Silmarillion, but there are plenty of revealing Lord of the Rings moments featuring old faves Gandalf, Elrond, The Nazgul, Balrogs et al) edited into a single volume by the authors son, Christopher Tolkien

cool looks like youll get to see it before we all die in 2012 ;)

i dont know if it will be as good as the old school hobbit cartoon though that was the shit when i was a kid
