We're really sliding over the precipice when this blatantly unconstitutional and invasive practice is tolerated in the largest city in the nation. Worse, its tolerance there would seem to make its spread inevitable.



NYPD Officers Stop-and-Frisk Teen ‘For Being a F****ing Mutt’



New York Magazine: A new documentary on the NYPD's controversial stop-and-frisk tactics includes jarring audio from one such search that neatly encapsulates everything critics say is wrong with the program. "I just got stopped like two blocks ago," says Harlem teenager Alvin, who covertly recorded the encounter on his phone. "You know why? You look very suspicious," an officer responds before adding, "Shut your f***in' mouth before I slap you." Asked why he's being held, a cop tells Alvin, "For being a f***in' mutt." And the threats keep coming: "Dude, I'm gonna break your f***ing arm," says the officer, "then I'm gonna punch you in the f***in' face."

THAT IS MESSED UP. Cops already think they cn do this anyway even without their stupid law. Ive been stopped by cop cars twice in the same ten minutes in ONTARIO. The last cop said "I was lucky". FUCK PIGS. As cliche as that is FUCK THE POLICE. I have never EVER seen them help once!
 
I've mostly ran into nice reasonable cops but I do have one experience where I was stopped because some LATINO/Black dark skin male was running around after a robbery. Seen a helicopter hovering above me and I was so confused, if I was the suspect, wouldn't I fucking run or something? Anyway, 2 detectives came rolling up the street like 2 minutes later, they were so rude the entire time.


5 minutes into the conversation they said something about the description and I calmly said "uhh, I'm white sir"


Immediately after I said that one shouts "shut up!" I told him no and he said "shut up before I arrest you for descrupting and investigation and anything else I feel like!"
 
i fucking hate the nypd, these assholes have been patrolling my county for a while, they got redistributed since they have too many cops in the city with too few drugs.
 
Sometimes I think I'm too harsh on police. I mean, they do have a very tough job at times and a dangerous one at that. But this stop n' frisk b/s is going too far. I'm not even a minority and I'm enraged. I can only imagine being a black or Latino in NYC and having some prick patting me down on my way to work or school. And on a side note- I feel as though many people don't think cops abuse their badge- Like when a story pops up about a police officer breaking the law- People are always astonished. It's like yea, they are human beings!

They're probably scoping out some middle easterners... So many reports of NYP going out of jurisdiction conducting illegal investigations! I even think they went out of state to Jersey once!
 
This is very old news for those who ever lived in LA. Why do you think there have been two riots there? People knew about Rampart for years before it was made public, and nothing really changed - there will be another LA riot because of this behavior.
 
Old news it is.... Nevertheless, it's got the stop and bringing it to light again never hurts. Helps bring awareness to those unfamiliar and maybe it touches someone enough to start a local petition that snowballs into a major national conversation (Do I sound like a naive Lib? I think I do). But I really hate it when stories like this echo around the airways for a news cycle or two and then dies.

Conservative calls for law and order at all costs are what lead us most often to these sorts of situations. This stop and frisk behavior will eventualy be evaluated by SCOTUS. If it is a conservative court, it will likely be upheld, if it is a liberal court, it likely will not be. Another reason to vote Obama.

Alito and Scalia have a penchant for police power - recall that they have no problem with cavity searches for citizens arrested for traffic violations. They have no problem allowing a policeman to suspect that someone quickly walking away from them is suspicious even though it is our right to not confront the police. And if a prisoner is beaten by a guard, while it may be cruel, it is not unusual and therefore not unconstitutional.


This is a small portrate of SCOTUS should Romney win office.

Of course if Gary Johnson were to win, we wouldn't have to worry about our fire arms being taken away. Both Dems and Pubes attack the constitutional guarantees granted us by the Bill of Rights. If Rombama wins then nothing gets better...

a "Mutt" is not a misceginated person, or a mixed race person, nor even a person of brown complexion, and possibly of terrorist descent.

a "Mutt" is a street criminal. read some Mickey Spillane and youll get more references to "Mutts" than you can shake a stick at. these "Mutts" come in all colors and creeds, and indulge in crime from pimping to low level dope sales. a "Mutt" is a junior level criminal (of any age) who gets rounded up as one of the "Usual Suspects" whenever they throw out the dragnet.

I would like to point out that New York and Los Angeles are both extreme Democratic strongholds. Apparently this sort of fascist behavior is a Democratic trait. The police chief in each of those cities serves at the pleasure of the politicians running them.

It seems this is a small portrait of SCOTUS if Obama wins office.
 
I find it humorous to see people calling Republicans and Democrats "conservative" and "liberal". They both attack civil liberties. They both support the "Patriot Act". They both are nation building in other countries. They both support the Federal Reserve. They both support the war on Marijuana. They both are corrupt and can't even follow their own party rules. They both lie and cover up from the American people their misdeeds world wide.
What exactly is the difference between these two corrupt entities?
Oh yes, they use "hot button" issues to stir up their base support, and in general misdirect the sheeple populace from the real issues. But other than those hot button issues that could be settled with a quick gander of the Constitution, what is different about them? They have the same major backers... Enlighten me.
Geesh. I don't think there is one.
That's why we MUST take a stand against the two party system. To stop the abuses like in this video. The Constitution is the supreme law of the land. It trumps all others.

Exactly, the video is a good example, both republican and democrat are part of the escalating police state and violations of our civil liberties as exemplified in the video.
