Yeah I think its mad, I go up to 1.4EC . I think greengenes feeds 1.6EC from seed to harvest, might be wrong. Think the ratios must play a big part.

Thing is roots will take what they want, just because a solution is higher EC doesn't mean they are taking that and problems might not happen if medium isn't allowed to dry or have a salt build up.

I remember a well know member a couple of years ago running 4EC, I don't even know how you measure that, my blue lab stops at 3 I think. :o

Is his set up run-to-waste? The ppm requirements are much higher than recirculating. ...or maybe I'm just really high and got that backwards.

Ya that is a bit of Ca, and also a decently high EC. Also N is rather high?

I've been trying to find a good nutrient ratio for awhile. I heard on one of the KisOrganics podcasts that Cannibis wants about twice as much K as typical tomatoes but then pretty much it's the same nutrient regimen after. It was the Steve Solomon episode, but I could never remember exactly what he said and never did find the reference recipe he was talking about because it was hidden in his book that I never bought. I need to look again how exactly to convert the NPK into ppm so I can determine MaxiBloom baseline ppm breakdown.

Just wondering what method you use? Grow medium , waterings ect?
Its interesting that some folks get burnt tips real easy yet others run such high EC without.
I can only assume its either the ratios or/and the amount of watering or better put the wet-dry cycle.
For instance a coco grower running daily feeds would always have a certain level of water available in the medium for the roots to absorb where a soil grower allowing more of a wet-dry cycle the water would at some point (as its almost dry) become so saline it would cause problems.

yeah man! my tips would dip and burn for sure...he might be running loadsa light and and Co2...i dont do either of those.

i need to do more reading on nutes for sure.

i add to megacrop using the calculator on their site, mostly add Ca and Mg. They sell it seperately anyways...

i was experimenting last round with more P and K but i set up wrong before i went away, like the other side of the world away, and my ph dived horridly for a week or so causing a K deficiency. i'll try again this round

Ya renfro is drain to waste, i think hes growing in soil right now, if i recall correctly, he has his buckets all connected to his floor drain

Sealed room. In flower I do automated top feed once a day into 8x 7gal pots of 1/4" rockwool cubes. 5' x 10' Scrog. 2400w of Chilled Logic V2 pucks + 8x far red pucks for the Emerson effect.
70 gal res...probably needed 100
1ml/gal Armor Si Silica
4ml/gal Cali-Magic
3ml/gal Florablend
1ml/gal Floralicious Plus
2ml/gal Flora Micro
3ml/gal Flora Bloom
1ml/gal Flora Grow
Last 4-5 weeks of flower, add 2ml/gal KoolBloom.
That comes to 900 to 950 ppm and 1100ppm midway.
I hand feed Recharge and Mammoth P daily mixed in RO water
I've never had a burn or deficiency with this recipe.

Nice job man, thats a beautiful canopy and that space is filled perfectly.


How do you like those drip rings? I was trying to decide between those and the stake emitters, i went with the stakes, they seem pretty good. I havent installed them into the garden yet, just test run.

Agreed. A higher k-temp has always been easier for me to grow under in leds. Same issues as you showed there when i tried 3k 90cri vs high k-temp mixed with reds.

I think allot of what a persons EC winds up being has to do with their nutes. So many bottled ones will have high EC's but same plant reaponse as another using half that.
Its about what the ppms comprise of.
But besides all that, plant size has the most to do with the varrying ec's using the same nute line by different members.
Running my Jacks at 1000ppm/2 ec'ish, then add a lil bloom boost of Awesome Blossom & some SugarDaddy, bringing me up to 1150 in ealy flower now. Some Plants are about 4' around.
Vegged at the 3-2-1 g ratio w/ lil Floralicious Plus & Facilitor.
Now using my last line, TechNaFlora i could easily get up to 1500 ppms / 500 scale at peak times of flower. Don't see that need with the Jacks.
This thread was a good read with some great info. I noticed i popped in a few times with half-ass comments not participating properly or reading first. My bad folks.
Just didn't want to participate then due to the fact that whenever i state my findings on spectrum to many pull the shill accusation & don't take me seriously. So i just stepped away.
@jarvild , i have always liked your set-up.
You have experience in using wh/ vs Enhanced.
Have you thought about running the direct SBS on a thread?
Your light has everything I'd include i think & has really got me on the verge of diy.
Bout to start with Optisolis's (both mixed like a High-Light board) but looking for wide strips. 385nm & FR is all i should need using Opti's. & looking for a 650-740m chip like the red phosphor that was shown here earlier. . Incondecents will be dropped in various places for IR.
Ordered the MQ-620 & would like a broad range spectrometer or passport meter.
