as far up as you can get the light, fresh seedling plants don't need much light but if you keep it up high it should be alright. I have an adjustable ballast so when I go from seed I keep my MH at 250w. You should be alright though, how long has it been since the plants broke out of the seed and the dirt that is if you are using soil and not hydro like I do.

I now have the light 15 inches away with a fan blowing over the tops.im using soil temps were 24c max last night n I only raised them about 2 more inches today so its gonna be about 25c tonight. I have 2 that have been above soil since the 25th but I have a blue liver that popped this morning...waiting one one more bluexliver to pop n I still have one that hasn't popped taproot yet.
Forgot to mention I also have a dimmable but its a 600w lumatek so 400w-600sl

Nope but I knew that when I was buying it, was either this or the solis tek cuz they both have a 5yr warranty but the solis was like 80 euro more n had to come from America so id have paid about another 50+ on import costs so fuck that but man the solistek is a tasty bit of technology, only one built in Japan n tons of added features.

Man 600w will yield you nice harvest! As long as you can keep the heat down and the plants don't grow right up to the light but you can tie them over which I have had to do more than a couple of times especially when topping. I topped a BCN Diesel plant about ten times and it looked like 8 plants with all the branches and colas and yielded about 3oz. It was a knock out diesel one of my favorite grows when I had my own grow cab while helping with the grow-op. I retired my cab and sold off the equipment except the ballast incase the grow-op one goes out. I would have used my cab as an addition for the grow op but we went with a tent instead it had more room and seals off the light completely and keeps temps perfect.

yeah, im cautious about the 600w in my dr90ii (3x3x6) but with the results I've seen with the aircooled hood the skys the limit or should I say the top of the tent is. I'll be flowering only 4, gonna kill off the weakest and ill defo give the 600w a go just to see how it is but id say I would be fine with it only problem really is that im venting into the same room, as large as it is heat may become an issue but I have the window open a lil n I can leave the room door a jar if needs be but sure I wont know till I try
gonna be LST for sure n since the dogs daddy is a OG kush n I have a og kush in there 2 ill be defoliating them as much as possible but my only concern about that is the dogs mother was a hermi so the stress might bring in bananas.

have you ever looked into an inline cfm fan? They are silent and move a ton of air!

Yeah, i was gonna buy a ram n use my fan speed controler but was no need for that would have been 2 much n the mixflow is 28-29 db at max n with my dinamat around it n insulated ducting im laughing check out mixflow fans shit the biz when it comes to stealth only concern was if it could handle the filter but its doing a great job n still pushing the hot air to the other side of the room near the door (gf is drying her clothes in the room so i keep it near the clothes so i get something out of the excess heat lol

Move yer light to the top of your cab till ye hav a cupple of leaves that can use it.
then move it down a bit every few days till ye have it where ye want it.
you can always bury a bit of the stem when repotting to cancel out the first bit of stretch.

I have it at 15" n lights are on so I cant go in without showing the estate how bright my tv is lol.the temps at 25.5 now ur stressing me out man hahahaha fecking pot ha I have berried the 2 that are establishing their second set of true leafs first with a lil soil then some Clay pebbles to help support n hold moisture. The bluexliver that I said popped is still doing its thing n I have a fan blowing over the tops.

I use to use this to germ my beans under a fluorescent light in one these mini rooters till they got a couple of inches tall then I would transplant them to my DWC setup under the MH at 250w and then when they got their third set of true leaves I would kick it up to 400w.

My last bluexliver popped last night so all 5 are alive,3 above ground n 2 showing second set of true leaves. Yeah I thought about one of those but tbh they are loving the 400w but after all this imma lil cautious but sure ill let U guys know how it goes lol
Edit...room maxed out last night at 25.5 temps steady at 24.5 now so im pretty happy with the heat.

@tonto: I'm not trying to disrespect you and I understand being skeptical of tested strains but it is not rocket science to make a machine that can test THC, CBD, THCV, etc.

The breeders in the essential guide to the world's finest marijuana strains aka The Cannabis incdica and Cannabis Sativa books are well known. I know people pay off the judges at the cannabis cup that is why all the big breeders win except when you go to the medical cannabis cups in the states because big breeders like barneys farm shitty strains don't exist in the states and cali sets the standard for high grade cannabis.
and there is now way you can count breeders on one hand aka gage green genetics, jaws gear, Bodhi seeds, TGA Subcool, Apine seeds, Cali Connection, E$kobar seeds, Frost Brothers, Jordan of the Islands, etc it goes on and on and these aren't the the breeders that associate themselves with the people you mentioned. The books I mention are edited S.T. Oner and have introductions by the Rev who is a very well known breeder.
The breeders you have probably never heard of but they are putting out top quality bud in the states.
USA Breeders: The Rev, Zombo, Josh the RockStar, SOG Seeds, Irie Genetics Colorado, MGM Genetics, BillBerry Farms, Green Haven Genetics, K.W. Estes Mediceuticals, SoHum Seeds, Teirra Rojo, TreeTown Seeds, Salatti Seeds, WoodHorse Seeds, Humble Seeds, 420Clones, Trichome Labs, etc.
But hey man I respect your opinion and I don't follow the holland cannabis cup at all. I follow the well known strains coming out of the west coast and denver because that is were all the top strains are coming from now.
Most of the breeders in the Essential Guide book are pretty much unknown unless you are a serious breeder and the ones in the USA you cannot get their strains unless you live in a medical state. I can say every strain I bought that tested high in THC was definitely very strong and lived up to the claim of the test. I know you don't have that across the pond but the technology is here in the states. How do explain high CBD strains without testing? They use high CBD strains a lot for kids that have seizures and cancer because it doesn't give them psychoactive high of THC.
I agree with you about Jorge Cervantes and who ever else you mentioned they are in it for the money and not the compassion maybe at one time they were. I would like to get my strains tested because lately we have grown some very potent strains but we do not care to because we know it is good and we explain to our few patience about how potent a strain we have given them so they can try a small amount and go from there, we don't want to freak some novice smoker out that just wants to alleviate what ever symptoms they are having.
Like I said I respect you tonto and i don't want you to think I am attacking you I am just trying to put out information that I have studied and I study cannabis on a daily basis whether it is growing, cloning, nutes, lumens from lights, air flow, humidity, and of course the effects after the grow.
