Haha, I hear you, man, arent they pathetic in there? There is a place called "get up and grow" (if you ask in the Hemp store on Capel street they will give you directions, its 2 mins away and I think they own it), really good advice, choice of gear etc., a proper grow shop, (without the bongs and t-shirts and sales people that are still going through puberty). Prices arent any better though, its still rip-off ireland.
I dunno if its still there, ring the hemp store to find out before trekking into town maybe. Thats if the hemp store is still there, I went to my local electrical suppliers today to find that it had closed down. Scary.
Sorry to have sent you on a wild goose chase maulstrom. I shouldve warned you about the shiteness of the Nirvana people. I still think those spirals in the avoca electrical place would be the best bet, they are a brilliant price and not too hot and you could afford to have lots and move them around a bit now and then, keeping them close to the plants, in between them beside them etc.

Get up and grow has moved up towards smithfield. If you keep going up Capel Street, left at the luas and then down past the bike place and veg place and then right at the cafe. Its up about 100 yards on the left. Went a bit mickey mouse for a while but think they've sorted it. Think new guys are managing it.
Another good shop out in tallaght. Called new age. Its just close to the court house. Of all places. Decent chap in there but again not cheap.

Lousy one maulstrom It's annoyin sometimes tryin to find shit and when you do it's in a rip off place, your best bet is if you go to a pound shop or as jay says a E2 shop, it seems silly but they sell coco in blocks for cheap as because it's what people are going mad for when they want indoor plants because their lazy with watering, my granny, mum you name who they all say coco, they grow vegetables and flowers though not what I'm growin 
Thanks for the input also prof I agree there should be more contact because it allows us to chat to like minded people and not just the average stoner on the street, don't get me wrong their all my mates but I only have 1 mate that is into intellectual stuff like me so it's good to see we aren't loners we're just too far from the rest of you guys haha
The reason I went for auto's is 2 reason, average yeild guaranteed and you only have to wait the flowering period without havin to do the veg cycle, but I will be growing regular stains also, I think I'm gonna get to the stage where I'm gonna freak out cause the hemp oil stuff requires a pound of pot to make 1 course of it so picture how much I'm gonna have to grow.
Any of you guys close enough to the border would be better shoppin up here even if your buyin weed off people rip-off Ireland isn't lies I didn't think it was that bad until recently I was down and tried to buy a kit kat...holy fuck 80 odd cent for a bar of choclate :O

Well guys fulll reps to sweet seeds on thier autos, 4 out of the 6 have sprouted hairs on the 4th week( not sure what day, Baked on buddah cheese) .Chuffed because was really thinking of switching them on to 12/12, Well happy days, gues its all down hill from here..lol..if only it was so easy. They are due there 3rd dose of nutes on monday and it will be the first on at full strenght. I couldnt believe it wheni checked them today, hadnt seent them in 2 days and there was little sproyes coming from everywhere...man this is getting exciting...I will take pics in a day or 2, im trying not to check them every day...man thats the hardest thing ever..lol..

Morning Prof, Ye its big budda cheese, The smoke and stone of it is amazing. you can really feel the stone coming over you after about 4 or 5 puffs, lovely head stone. My mates grew it and i managed to blag a Q from him. I only got it off him on friday night and the whole house stinks of it...lol...Its an amazing smell, I dont smoke in the house (kids) so the smell is only from that little bag. My missus doesnt smoke but she doesnt mind at all thinks the smell is( in her words) "gorgeous". I am deffo growing cheese next, will have to sort out my height issues..I have a 6 foot grow tent but at the mo only have it at half height because of the eaves in the attic but am thinking of building my tent around the joists, do a few cuts in it here and there, The rips shouldnt matter beacuse its in the attic and is pitch dark up there so light leaks wont be an issue...what do yous think.

Prof do you think i should check on them everyday, I really love when you havent checked on them in a day or two and you can really notice the differance. The are on a 4 day feeding cycle and fed them yesterday am really going to try and not check them till tuesday....Fiver says i check them tonight..lol...its like an addiction....lol...they are due thier first full dose of nutes on tuesday so cant wait to see what that des for them. Prfo have you and experiance with Advance nutients Micro and Bloom..Will they be enough on thier own to finish??

No bother man - I figured it would be bad, just not that bad. Avoca it is! I'll have a look in the E2 shop for some coco as well. The start up op has been moved to after Christmas so I have until then to get the bits together - just got the quote back from my tattoo artist back home for some work on a half sleeve and it's pricey but I know he's worth it so until after the hols most of my spare change will be saved for that. I figure I might have a crop ready for smoking by the time the balmy summer temps come back! HAHAHA!

Went down the curragh aswell, got fuck all, puffed a bit of funky cron so it wasnt all bad
Any of you know if the frost kills them off or what? Want to get a few more over the next few days but its been gettin fairly chillie on the willy the last few days.

Ive only used adv nutrients hydro with rockwool and it was fine on its own without any boosters or additives or enzymes or whatever, I would say that micro and bloom should be fine with you plants. What do Advanced Nutrients themselves say? Al B says keep it simple, and hes so so right.
I do think its a good idea to check them as often as you can though, youll end up missing a day here and there anyway, so I would say in general check once a day. 24 hours of a spider mite infestation is enough can be the difference between saving your crop and having to harvest it and losing half your weight.
Same with over fertilising. If you accidentally do say add double strength (as many a stoney bastard has done, including me), then you will notice the day after probably and can save the plants by flushing well with water. If you dont catch it, your plants could be fucked. Again to misquote Al B, with hydro grows anyway, when it comes to nutes, there's 3 possibilities: perfect, not enough, or dead.

Yea i have always heard the fairy tale storys about the curragh in the "Good ould days".Heard a few people older than me sayin there were days you would get hundreds. Im gutted now, so dedicated to the cause and now a fail for the 3rd year running. Ah shure theres always next year wha lol

Up near the Blue Light in the Dublin mts, was where we had the best picking, but that's going back a lot of years, also I heard from one of irelands leading mushroom experts that there's a field at Inch, near Arklow that is full of them....
From what I've heard, the problem is that farmers are fertilising fields and that this kills off mushrooms.

I got that buddha cheese stuff a few weeks ago from the dam...deadly stuff I smoke bongs rather than joints and I felt brave smokin like 5 or 6 well packed bongs.
Advice for those who haven't had the cheese, don't feel brave...it's a lot braver than you'll ever be haha still waitin on the light to arrive but since I've waited long enough to order one a few days shouldn't be bad, the first female who I think I'm gonna call Eve, obvious cheesy reason but I like it, she started to grow up again in height but it's not veg growth it's false seed pod growth so happy, I thought she was done growin up since I'm like 3/4 weeks off harvest but no I was proven wrong, any body got any experience on how taller she might get? I reckon I'll get another inch off her at most but not sure.

If you're looking for mushies I could put you onto a few good fields - got close to a half pound last season - had so many I was just giving them away. I don't eat them myself anymore but I know how shit it is going through a dry spell so I try to spread the love.
Don't bother smoking them though - psilocybin/psilocin are not heat stable so burning them destroys most of the good stuff.

Are mushies as good as people are makin them out to be? I've never took them although I've been off me face on acid and e's before, always vowed the only other drug I would take would be DMT but I'm havin a wile hunger for a sesh without havin to spend a fortune on a load of stuff, mushies is the only alternative and I might violate my wee drug oath to see what their like.

They're like a shorter, merrier version of an LSD trip - you also don't get the body load with them like acid - where you're sitting around covered in sweat even thought you're freezing. I find the visuals much more intense on high doses of mushies - the downside is puking, but taking them with a 7up chaser seems to help that. when you're ready to come down, drink a few beers and you're done.
