Just the chemical fertilisers are available to the plant to be used straight away instead of the rootzone depending on microorganisms to break it down. Just an fyi for anyone who didnt know. I only use organics cos it sounds fancy and its much harder to burn a plant using it.

Wow so its deffo a no go? Thats a shame. Might make a couple Hempy buckets then for my next grow. Anyone know what mix I should get?

Iv only so far grown in soil but Iv researched hydroponics SERIOUSLY extensively over the last two years (I was kinda obsessed with learning about it cos I knew nothing about it!) but from what Iv read on here you can, you just need to dilute them more.

And yeah man Id give the organic hydro a miss (I use organic in soil, so naturally I wanted to use organic in hydro but I learnt its probably not the best idea)...why not just use chemical nutes? Honestly man, when the roots "take it up" its genuinely the same chemical, just organic needs microbes in the soil to break it down from big organic molecules into the chemicals that synthetic nutes have from the start.

Maybe theres organic nutes made for hydro tho...just definately its not Biobizz! I use one of the spoons you give kids medicine on to measure mine out (its conveniently 5ml and 2.5ml, full and half dose respectively to add to the 5L bottles of water I use) and its like Lyles golden syrup in the spoon, the grow more-so than the bloom...but anyways (all this baked rambling) its REALLY hard to get off a plastic spoon, so it'd definately clog the sprayers in Aero, maybe even the pump would get clogged.

EDIT: And the camera is still outta action, the bloody copy protection tab on the memory card keeps getting flicked to "Locked" every time I put it in the camera, but the buds/hairs/tops are definately starting to show on my plants now. An interesting thought on those heaters actually...I have 2 rows of 3 plants in the "back" of the tent then the heater and then finally theres an osillating fan just infront of the door...the row of three plants directly beside the heater are budding way faster than the row at the back, so its DEFINATELY having the effect I was looking for.

I think youre on the money with all of that Harrekin +rep, peroxide is the way to go, lash it in there, forget enzymes and all that, the peroxide will knacker them anyway, but it takes care of all the nasties that might want to move into your roots, adds oxygen to them, and breaks down into water. Why would you want any more, it just gives the plants the perfect root environment. Biobizz, molasses, its all bullshit in hydro, itll just fuck up your pump, cause slime, youll end up with wild pH swings.

Anyway, theres nothing organic about indoor growing, even if it is in soil. You think IOFGA would rubberstamp tomatoes grown in soil in a flat in Ballybrack?

There is one "bio" type product Id like to know about for sure though, we always used it back int he day in London, and jsut assumed it was making a difference. Canna Boost, anyone done with and without and can say for sure whether its worth the mad money it costs?

Harrekin, dead right about how easy it is to burn your plants in hydro. The only way around that is to use way less than what Canna say on the tin, and build up to an optimum when you see the plants looking for nutes. Start with 1/8 strength with seedlings, and then 1/4 for small ones with decent roots. You get to know what they need and what they can take fairly quickly if your patient. The biggest new growers problem is overnutes. It sets them back so much. If they survive that is. Too little means they are bit slower, too much and they're dead.
 
Okay so i realized the lad gave me the wrong ballast so ive contacted him and am awaiting reply on the matter. 400w instead of 600w. Maybe that explains why the wires and plus were confusing?

Is it just me or do the plugs not fit into each other? My reflector came with an input end for a plug and at the other end is blue green/yellow and brown wires (to obviously go into the reflector itself. Which btw ive no idea how to do.

Am I way in over my head with this 600w HPS? I really have no idea how to wire it when I get the correct ballast. It comes with zero instructions lawlz :P

If I took pictures of all the plugs, wires, ballast, the whole shibang could you lads point me in the right direction?
 
You should have two cables, one coming from your reflector to the ballast and one going from the ballast to the plug. They all have old school kettle/pc power connectors.

Yeah i thought that myself. Hopefully when I get the right ballast it will be like that. I take it the 400w wont work at all with the 600w bulb? Thanks irishmc i deffo will if it require wiring.

The ballast i have here has a weird plug 3 rounded tips on it. that fits into the 'POWER' side. However the other side wont fit the cable that came with the reflector labelled 'LAMP'. They are both male/male or both female/female connections. Confuzzled.
 
physique how many plants are you going to be doing because the 400w might suit you better, also does the ballast take mh bulbs aswell? you should really have a female conector coming from the canopy and male from ballast, i thought that was standard so dont know why you have two females. you could wire directly from ballast to canopy but if you want to get it changed then go ahead. what make ballast and canopy did you get?
would not use 400w with 600w bulb.

Just cut the wires and join them up with a connector..
My ballasts both came with male sockets and my reflector had wires coming out of the e40 socket anyway.
 
DERRP i only realise what female and male are. Now i can distinguish them lol. Right my ballast has a male end for the plug in wall. other side has female. However the cable i got with the reflector is 3 wires on one end (presumably to go in the e40 fixture and a female on the other end. But then im left with female/female. Not possible?
 
you only need one male, one female, then leagth of cable for the plug to go on. ill take a pic and show you what to do for when you get your new ballast.

My ballast is a little different. The only option for a cable to the lamp is a female. My reflector came with a female and 3 wire ending cable. Ill take pics tomorrow. Im getting it changed and i think the one i should have got is the same as yours.
 
it, at the moment I'm smokin ak47 autoflower, very nice smoke but not very heavy on the body, what are you after? Do you want paralyzed or mesmerized?

decent yield & decent smoke just , just planted ak47 auto myself about 13 days ago but would love to try something different but easy to grow, kinda freakd out about buying seeds online to but it has to be done
