You can generally see them, but the male flowers can take up to 3 weeks to open. So your job now is to just keep an eye on them and pick/cut off any nanners you can. Hopefully its too late for seeds at week 7, but chop off the man bits anyways!

youll see the buds start to fill out a bit and kind of split when they have seeds in em, hopefully you wont see that. if the nanners were pretty new they may not have released any pollen but its really hard to see anyway. have a look from the underneath upwardds of your plants as the nanners like to be right in at the stem joints on the bottom. hope it all works out for you though, those hermies are a nightmare.
yes id say i will give the air pots a go harrekin, probs go for the 15l ones, i would not say they would cost that much more, i might also do a side by side just to see whether the canna is whats causing your great growth rate. cany wait for the next grow to start, two baies poked there heads from the soil today, another just breaking the soil and ive to pot the diesel tonight, a few of those are ready to go in.
has not the face been on here lately?
just to add some strains hate being crowded, the white berry just looked sad when they were cramped,

One thing to consider tho, when you go to 12/12 in wintertime in a shed its kind of a shit buzz...your fucked because if run the lights at night when its coldest the police WILL eventually catch you (16C shed in -4C weather, like a Christmas tree to FLIR), but run them during the day and it'll be seriously cold at night so you should probably add a heater to the design too.
I'll be getting the new shed in the next week or two so I'm going ahead with it and taking the risk. I have an oil boiler out my back garden for our central heating that's inside a 3' x 3' x 4' concrete hut and it vents the fumes (which would be far hotter than the air from my grow room) out the side of the concrete hut. Now unless I'm mistaken would this oil boiler hut not look very similar to my shed converted grow room venting the hot air out the side wall and be common place through out urban areas?

Plus in the winter our boiler is often left on during the night when temps really plummet.

But do you have a reason for your shed glowing like a Christmas tree? A boiler is a boiler, a shed with a grow in it cannot just be explained away. Just trying to help you out, I was thinking of doing it myself, but then the reasons not to far outweighed the reasons to.

Alright lads, I went up to that grow and bloom in finglas at lunch time and have to say its a sweet place, the guy behind the counter was really helpfull and friendly, just what you want out of a grow shop, haha nothing worse than going in just after you have a doob and gettign para..haha... Unfortunately the didnt have the small bag of all mix in stock (but will have it tomorrow so i will be back) and they have that rooting gel we were talking about the other week. Gonna do some reading up on it, deffo gonna give it a try....

I thought my shed would glow like a mofo also but after a bit of research checking up on flir I've changed my mind about it. From what the dude says and shows in this video if the shed is well insulated and certain precautions are taken the shed won't glow at all! But as I said before the problem still lies in the exhaust air that I'll need to get rid of but its far from the problem I originally thought I had. Now don't get me wrong Harrekin, I'm one of the most paranoid people I know so I'm not doing this lightly but I also like a challenge and I appreciate the advice dude :)

I was considering some way to cool the air before its exhaused, but that was stepping alittle too far into the "too much effort" catagory for me! Also your insulation/shed itself will eventually heat up too, even if its only by a few degrees, they can still detect the heat difference above ambient temps.

Could you use the boiler as a "diversion" so to speak actually? Or is it far from the shed?

I was thinking about that alright and it sounds good, the shed isn't here yet so I could position it closer to the boiler if I wanted. Another idea I heard was to position a spot/flood light just at the point where you're vent will be on the outside of the shed so it just looks like a light to the cops. I'd love to get my hands on a decent flir camera and do some testing.

i grow at the moment in a shed, where a boiler used to be, lights ona night off during the day, and honestly i dont think the cops are gonna bother with flir cameras for a personal grow op, i mean lads they cant afford to send helis up for car chases and lots of other reasons they hardly fire them up every night and go looking for grow ops

Do you find it hard keeping the temps steady year round?

that chopper has been buzzing around my patch nearly every night, if you are growing in the shed just direct the exhaust to the flu of the oiler. im sure they wont be able to tell what it is then, id say they will be a little more careful after raiding the old lady who was keeping her dogs warm. harrekin is right all the insulation is still going to cause it to heat up a few degrees, so your shed would stand out over others, just out of interest what size light are you using, also id only use hps for full grow as mh can get quite warm.or are you probs gonnna use cfl for early days.
also now because of the warmer nights i dont even know if it would stand out that much, more so on cold nights. long way off yet.
jagle was that a concrete shed, like the ones most houses have, they wont other with them cos they think its the boiler.

Ye the chopper does be over my way fairly regularly too but certainly no where near every night. I'll be using two 600w hps lights in the shed for flowering, I'll be vegging inside then moving them out to the shed for flowering and so on. I eventually want to be harvesting some smoke once a month or there abouts :)

I've just been going through one of "irishboys" LED grows on here and they look fukcin awesome.

Yes enclosed concrete shed with a proper roof.
and about my temps no problem with them at all now, lights heat it up, and its perfect during the day when lights are off they cool down ive 3 speed adjustable intake & exhaust so i can control them that way, during winter i know itll be too cold so im gonna run auto's 20/4 in winter
