So basically NL is number 2
6 out of the top 10 countries are places where burning wood to prevent your nuts from freezing off creates a fuzzy warm immense happy feeling. Especially in a Finnish sauna. Iceland is like a remote island tribe, far enough away from everyone else, I’ll take their word for it. Happy people in Israel though… good one.
Corrected list:
1. Iceland
2. NL
3. Luxembourg (a former dutch state, richer and has mountains…)
4. NZ
5. Australia
6. Canada
7. Ireland
8. US
9. Gerrmany
10. Belgium
It’s always funny to see the scandinavian countries being listed as near-utopias. It’s clearly a mindset, which is good, but it’s local. Unless… unless happiness is the result of getting the least international tourists, expats and retirees.
Obviously I’m kidding, Iceland is a cold windy rock in the ocean and does not belong in top 10. I had this exchange student from Iceland in class back in school, his hobby was catching birds on cliffs. Something of a national pasttime, Puffin hunting. All the kids where in shock by this barbaric behavior, he didn’t make any friends that year.
People always complain here in NL, we’re in fact quit miserable and only things like dreaming of living in NZ or Australia, having space and sunny weather, provides a glimpse of happiness.
I think if you’d compare certain states they would be listed much higher.
