Okay people I got a crazy one for you. I have two girls that I have loved and cared for the past 73 days (12/12 from seed). They are close to finishing but probably still have a week or two to go. I have to leave for six days and go acrosss the country with my wife. She does not want me to leave the lights on while we are gone and now i have become parnoid enough to agree with her. I do not want to chop them early so the best option I can come up with is to leave them by a window with blinds down (have to because of noisy neighbors) to get their light everyday. My question is what the hell do you guys think about that? Thanks for any info!!! Sh!tiiiii :wall:

Have to leave? Lol...just leave your lights with a timer? Start flushing now, you have to anyway if you were nuting, you should be ok...it's only six days :p what the wife knows cant hurt her.

Yeah, get a timer. I don't know why you don't have a timer already. They are inexpensive and easy to find (Home Depot).

Cant find any other windows with no access to nosy neighbors? (risky with no cover tho)

No lights in case of fire. I don't think that anything would happen but I would feel like head asshole if I came back from vacation and had to go to jail cause house was burnt down. SURRYMAN where do you get solar film? If i can't find that would indirect sun light work?

Okay so... if you interrupt your light cycle drastically during flowering you will stress your plants and possibly turn them hermie or other horrible things. I dont want to sound like a dick, but if you dont feel safe enough with your growroom's wiring\ventilation\etc. to be left alone for a few days then you really aren't that safe period. Do what you have to do this time around, but for future, make sure you are as fireproofed as possible. You'd be alot better off having a big fire when you're in another city than if you're in the house, 99 times out of 100, unless you directly cause the fire it's gonna be too big too fast to do anything about it anyhow.

Sorry to be a bummer, just my humble opinion.

i think hes more worried about having to explain it to the wife.. i.e. even if your 99.9% sure its o.k. that 0.1% chance that you will have to call the wife from jail and explain to her that you burned down the house.. well... its just easier to turn them off.

Well you could always chop them and hang them to dry. That way when you get back they'll be dry.

Meangreen45,in Oz you can get it at the hardware shop,and do it yourself or look under windows/window tinting in the yellow pages(phonebook)I recommend the stuff,no one can see,great if you walk around in your undies,also cuts out alot of the uv rays,it will reduce heat in the room,basically the same as aviation glasses,you know those great perving ones,also many colours.we have it here so you must.
