Thatguy, I appreciate pheno searching and the risks involved in getting males, however, there is more than one way to skin a cat. I've chosen to go the hydro route, while most main-liners tend to grow organically. By no means am I trolling, but my intent is to show others like myself that you can main-line just fine using a passive hydro setup for instance. You get the same look and feel as soil.To me thats the risk in investment and I feel like youll be better off time wise if you had those plants in the 2 gallons before sexing. They will be noticeably bigger then in a solo cup and recover faster after the switch from sexing
(But Thats just like my opinion, man View attachment 2485955 ).
Its just base soil that might be thrown away but in the long view of things your trying to find a keeper and youll make back the loss in no time.
With that said, you can grow a pretty large plant in a solo cup using the hempy method. So, it should've be a problem starting off a main-lined plant using solo cups. Since there is a decent veg period involved, it gives ample time to clone a top and sex while in th solos. Sure, you waste a plug and a solo cup of medium, but atleast you aren't dumping a 2 gal bucket of medium out.
