congrats on your first post.....welcome home!.......thanks for the compliments....so, what lights are you using?....i would recommend you mix up some super soil, and go water only....the best way to grow organic dank for newbies, and pros alike......so much of the guess work is gone......
- I was thinking either two 600w HPS or one 1000w. Not sure if one 1000w will adequately cover the length of the tent with enough light. I am planning on doing SS the second time around. I have a friend helping me out (it's his second grow) and he's starting in about 10 days so I want to start at the same time as him so we can monitor each others progress and help each other out as we go along. We will both be using clones. SS takes about six weeks or so to break down and pH out right? I figure get that going once I start my first grow and it'll be ready to go for round two. I'm leaning on doing a coco and soil mix (70/30), hand watering, and using AN's organic line (not the whole line), but space management is the part I can't decide on. Any thoughts or recommendations (pot size, number of plants, etc) on that matter would be awesome. Peace.

good question......i prefer quart and 1/2 gal glass jars, and i like them to be filled loosely, but not packed....so smaller nugs fit the bill nicely as far as filling the curing jars, without that much air space....it is difficult to achieve this with really large/long colas, so i always cut everything apart off the main stem except for the last 3 inches of main/terminal cola.....also, i don't think it is fair to my patients to give them a big massive stem, they seem to appreciate nice coin sized nugs that fill a jar jug right.....i am also ultra sensitive to mold, and i like to cut apart my main colas and give a real good mold/mildew inspection before giving it my seal of approval.......i prefer consistant coin sized, uber frosty, rock hard nugs....as far as bag appeal is concerned....

What up Nugs! I love the thread, I just had a couple questions that I couldn't find while looking through here.
You say that it is best done on seedlings which keep their symmetry, but could it be done on clones? I know the fact that the main arms are coming off of a central hub is nice, but will it work when they start alternating.
The second question is, since you are doing it from seed, what happens if they happen to be males? I normally watch the nodes looking for sex, but this seems like it would make it hard. Are you waiting until flowering to see sex?
I plan on doing a trial run on some fems I'm gonna pop. Ones that I don't necessarily mind botching if I screw up, lol. Not that I don't trust you perse... Mainly because I don't trust me, lol. And I would hate to botch some seeds I care about because I'm a bonehead, lol.

it just makes things easier when the plant is symetrical, but it certainly can be done with clones....check out page #7 for clone info.........i force early sex when the little plants are about 8 inches tall, before pruning for 2.......What up Nugs! Thanks man, I knew I had seen it in there, but couldn't find it, too much pot on the brain.
When you say force early sex, you mean you will flip your seedlings to 12/12 and then flip them back to 18/6? I've done this method before and had absolute terrible results from it, so Im a little leary. I guess i'll just do the leg work and wait them out like a patient little grower.

Excellent info here brah, that technique is (crazy) amazing! it is a vast improvement from my lil LST, ffs!
Now... on to pg. 7 and using clones too (I have both) and then about that "forcing sex"?
I wonder if it's done from a cutting/clone put into 12/12? or...
I'll finish reading even tho (like a great novel) I wanna jump ahead!

well my seedlings have turned into small plants, they have been pretty much starved of water to push roots, now were on regular watering and next few days i`ll start feeding so should be mainlineing soon enough...

I am on my third grow and I have a 4 headed OG # 18 main-line going now. I can't wait till my next grow to pop some TGA beans.
Anyways I'm not much of a participant in online forums just like to read and learn.

I'm annoyed. One is droppy and sad looking but green and healthy she just hangs I stick my finger down on the edge of the pot and she is bone dry down to my 3rd knuckle. in the center about 1 inch down is dark soil. It's not wet but it is moist. Should I water her? Is that what she wants? I've watered every day and it keeps drying out like that. Is she thirsty or am I over watering?

if your medium is dry down to the third knuckle bro...you need to water!...she be thirsty!....if she is dark green, with a blue hue, she is well fed, and when she gets dry, she also gets salty, which has a dyhydrating effect on her, which will excentuate the wilt.....fresh, clean water is what she wants.....think of it like this......when you pig out on a big salty pizza, you are full, but thirsty as hell.......
