Weight report, for fall 2014/spring 2015
BW1 - Strain/C1 - C4 Clone

Parent - BW1 - 74 days - 2.3 Zips

BW1/C1 - 77 days - 1.9 zips
BW1/C2 - 84 days - 2 zips
BW1/C3 - 94 days - 1.6 zips
BW1/C4 - 98 days - 1.1 zips

Larf, sugar leaf, popcorns but no fan leaf all 6 plants - 2.4 zips (I see some cannabutter in my
future.
BW5 -77 days - 2.2 zips
BW5 was/is a strange plant, I should have gone more days maybe weeks. Tall, thin buds, did I say tall. But I believe it has a better high and a great fragrance.

The two parents BW1 & BW5 were both mainlined and the 4 clones just got some super cropping. Total weight for mainline was 4.5 zips and the clones was 6.6 zips. So two mainlined plants produced almost 70% as much weight as 4 cloned plants.
I have one BW5 clone in the cabinet now, day I am not sure how long I am going to let it go. I had it in a closet under an SS400 LED with two other BW5 clones. They totally took over the grow space, and even after supercropping they were 5+ feet tall. The closet had a light leak so they were not producing in the way of flowering, so I composted two of them and put the other in the cabinet after the BW1 clones finished. It is massive, this one plant takes up the entire space in the cabinet, some of the side branching is 4+ feet long, should have supercropped them also. Putting on so/so buds. Pics when I take it from the cabinet for a flushing soon.

last night I broke off one of my two heads when trying to tie her down for the first time. tried taping back on but could tell this morning it just didn't take.

I've moved past my cursing and being mad at myself phase, and am now at the "what now" point. so, do I just let it grow out naturally to try and save any yeild, or should I keep on with the mainline and try to turn her into 4 heads?

basically at this point just trying to salvage what end yeild I can.

thanks in advance for any advice!

I'd let it grow, take some clones and start over personally. But considering the way things seem to work, it would seem that if you let that one main continue to grow it should theoretically display apical dominance and take on the structure of a normal plant... I think... Same thing happened to me during my second top. Turned one of my girls into a six topper hahah.

20150620_010751.jpg only topped once due to timing and took off one cola right after flipping to flower. This one side wasn't doing anything and was slowing down the growth of the 2nd cola. Once cut the other side stretched from 15" to 36" in a weeks time.

I'm really loving this method of growing, my girls look so nice and uniform... The canopy is very even, needless to say i'm quite pleased.

I'm trying a new fertilizer, it's called Golden Tree and it's supposed to replace Canna's Boost supplement. I'll probably end up writing a product review. Also gonna try using Rock Nutrients Resinator this round, hoping it will improve my yields!

Here are some pics of my Mainline Forest

Thanks for the good/quick advice guys, much appreciated. I'm lettin' the one side grow out for now, and you can def tell that its going a lot faster on its own than it was with the two.

@Redvirgo from the branch in the pic, it looks like you already had 4 tops when you cut it

do guys you think i can keep going so i can get at least 4 tops on this one side or should i let it just single cola?

also,
both @Canna-Savant and @Redvirgo: plants lookin dope!!!

Thanks @RED DANSON,
If you look again at the plant in the back middle you can see it had 2 and now only has 1.

This is my first grow, and consequently, my first mainline. I clipped her for 8 main colas ten days ago (first image) and this is her today (second and third image; ~18"x18"). From what I have read the rule of thumb is to veg for two weeks after the third topping, which would put me into flowering around Monday, or at around 20" in height. Does the plant seem like it will be ready to put into flower around that time?

Also, do you remove the side branches on the final 8 branches? And is there a rule of thumb for how many colas to have on the final 8 branches (she's on 5&6 currently)?

Strain: Blue Mystic - Nirvana
Medium: 100% Coco - FloraNova Bloom - Calimagic
Light: 150w HPS

If you're looking for the 8 Donkey Dick style buds you should remove older growths (that will strech into stems) and fan leafs. This way the newer buds will tend to grow straight off the main branch and fill it out.

On the other hand if you wanna fill a screen, just let it do it's thing. All the older nodes will stretch into long stems and make for a forest of smaller buds.

Should I remove the side branching as it appears? Or wait for the flowering stretch?

I'm also confused about bud/flowering sites at the nodes (not main colas). Does a bud site grow at the node or only off of the small side branch colas?

You can do it both ways, but plucking as it's growing will contribute to a slight slow down in development. In my mainline I'll be plucking anything that's stretching out on the day I switch to 12/12. And then I won't touch it any more, unless it looks absolutely necessary.

Also, the nodes are the places where new growth takes place. Naturally they will develop into stems so as to search for better light exposure. BUT if you flip them to 12/12, most of the nodes that didn't develop into stems will create buds right at the main stem (if they have enough light coverage).

Lot's of buds growing on the main stem is what makes for the huge looking donkey dick colas. They are NOT a huge long bud. They are just a nicely packed main stem with loads of bud clusters. =)

She has had 3 nights of 12/12 and is staying pretty even so far aside from one branch (front left) lagging behind. I've been pushing it to the middle, are there any other methods to help it catch up?

Pull the others down and make the lagger the tallest (dominant) until it catches up...

Whichever bud/branch is highest is the dominant and will receive the most energy.... Hence the point of mainlining, keeping them all as even as possible so they all get equal energy dedicated to them..
