First time grower here so im not gonna be much help. I'm wondering the same thing so hopefully someone with experience will answer. I actually don't even know if I did it right. I'm wondering about all the little branches. I just don't know when to stop cutting them off. I have to Veg them for 2 to 3 more weeks and I can't let them get any more than 12" taller.
Depending on how much you take off and how often you do it, you could be fine defoliating those lower side branches.
Don't take too many off in one shot so you don't stress the plant.
On my first main line grow I was really strict with a couple plants, let one go kinda wild, but on one specific plant I kept about 3 or 4 larger and stronger side branches and those little fuckers put on some serious colas.
You may want to try keeping a few stronger side branches if you have room to arrange it in your canopy and will be able to support them when they turn into fat and sticky colas!
The one thing you definitely want to do sooner than later is to get yourself soft ties. The green wire you're using isn't string enough to hold the shape you want without eventually cutting into your main branches.

Ilovetoskiatalta - same for you, depending on how much and how often you defoliate will determine the overall health and output of your girls. Just don't overdo it!
If you can give your plants 5 - 7 days between haircuts to heal, you shouldn't shock any of them.
