Well .... what excites me about this Character Alan Moore is that once .... this portal (his mind) is discovered by our Brothers here ... it will pave for a nice conversation .... perhaps.
All we need is patience .... and a little bit of will .... to sit through this ... by our little family on the halls of Alucinari !! And the fire of imagination will be ignited, many bridges in our perceptions will be realized.

EDIT: Just finished watching. Boy what a treat!

Nice hearing some new concepts/theories that I havent heard before. The idea of information doubling in an exponentially shorter and shorter time frame is crazy.
Makes one really wonder what will happen when information doubles every thousandth of a second, as opposed to every 18months currently. Alan talks about it as being a fluid complexity that will reach its boiling point and vapourize around 2015... wow

Also he talks about the age of reasoning and how we lost our touch with spirituality around that time. If only I had a time machine and could experience the world when spirits/mysticism was the norm, now that would be fun.

And then the matrix... The thought of human information doubling every thousandth of a second is mind boggling. Almost scary. What would that look like? Maybe it would be AI as Puffer pointed out. I don't see the infinite increase in information happening with the individual, but if it did this would create an ascension of sorts. Artificially, would we be creating God?

Funny how all this information we have obtained dosnt really make any one individual smarter though. The idiot walking into poles on the sidewalk while texting on his smartphone for example.
I guess the only ones who actually get any smarter are the ones that go out and find the new information... Then that info is only availabe to a handfull of people who sell the information back to the general public as the next new hot peice of materialistic shit.

now im just rambling... AI would be scarey shit though

I have no doubt that AI is around the corner ... with advances in quantum computing (as per hardware able to handle this overflow of known data as it doubles) also taking into consideration Moore's_law as applied to computing in general ... 21 centure will spawn something new .... operating on a very different plane of consciousness ! Perhaps certain singularity ... morphed out of machine and flesh.

Thanks for bringing this film to our attention Puffer. It was extremely enjoyable. Moore is a very interesting character. The autobiography part was more of a 20 minute summation of his life rather than a detailed account. Many interesting things were left out, and he kept referring to events by decade instead of by the exact year. This made it very general and almost a tad pointless, but he gave just enough information about his life so that he could then begin to talk about the things that really mattered to him later on in the film.
