The "MIR" aero system v.2

We are getting tons of stretch. Our roots have gone all the way down the return tube and now we are having lots of roots in the reservoir. That puts the closest plant almost 4 feet to the end of the return tube.

Plants are going off. I really feel like it have the grow machine and nutes nailed.

Anyway, here are the latest pictures (excuse the blurry one)

OK, I am pretty confident that 357magnum+ is not getting the narrow sides adequately. I am getting a little burning on the edges of the leaves, which I attribute to lack of light.

The center, and to a lessor extent the ends on the long side of the light, are doing great. As a matter of fact, they are growing almost too well.

Here are the pictures:

Here are the roots coming out of the return tube. The end of this tube is 4' away from the nearest plant.

Well, these damn things just won't stop stretching. I am wondering if this is normal for an OG Kush.

The 357 magnum plus are killing in the middle, but the sides are dying off.

Hopefully I will have the new format light by early next week. In the mean time, I think I will drop a couple of florescents down the side, in an effort to salvage some of the growth.

I went in today and the flowering is finally progressing. Will post pictures at the end of the week.

If anyone has some input on the stretching, I would love to hear it.

i havent found a good single light for a 4x4 grow area either...

I am running a Blackstar 500w in the middle of the area with 2 Blackstar 240w (1 on either side) and that def does the trick ;)

Ok, here are the latest pictures of flower. Stretch off the charts.

Here are some close ups of the flowering:

So, I added some compact fluorescents, to try and salvage the sides.

our new light showed up today. When I get the package, I will pop it open and post some pictures.

This light has 320 3w leds and measures 25" x 25". We had them overpower the leds to 620ma, like the newest penetrator x series.

Ok, the new light showed up today. It is made from the components they said and does appear to be pretty much identical to the HydroGrow light. The only difference is that there is one less LED in each cluster. That makes the count 320 3w LED's in the unit. I had them match the spectrum's and ratios of the HydroGrow. It is a great light.

Now for the bad part. The new light only covers a 3'x3' area, at 24" height.

I am going to talk to the company today, to see if they will build me lights with 5 pods in each direction. If that is the case, I think the whole led lighting thing will finally be sorted.

Here are the pictures of the room. I have placed the new light over one area and the two 357's over the other. Given how low the outside plants are, I left the compact fluorescent in place.

Hey Everyone,

Today is day 21 and time for a water change. I have neglected to add Cannazym, as my regiment instructs, but now I have it and it is in this water change.

In these pictures, you can see the new light over one pod and the two old lights over the other. I have left the fluorescent lights in, for the growth that is stunted.

The stretch on the plants isn't stopping. They keep growing and growing. Today I stripped out anything that wasn't viable and dead leaves. Most of the stocks fell over. I never anticipated them growing this much after flowering.

I think this Chinese company really has the same components as the HydroGrow penetrator x series. I have inspected the parts and they are the same as the ones pictured on HyrdroGrow's web site.

Anyway, the unit is still a little too small I have been talking with the Chinese company and I have some ideas about a more modular system. If it works, it might be a really nice way of lighting an area. I will fill you in, once I get some feedback.

how much is the 5x5 one going to run you?
Not sure if it will be possible. The company that builds the lights says that there would be shipping size and weight issues with a unit that size. Also they were worried about sag in the center. They also complained about the development costs, which seemed pretty small to me.

I have some other ideas, which I am going to discuss with them. I need to figure this out, as I am expanding and I need this lighting kerfuffle worked out.

OK, this stretching thing has to stop soon. I am running out of space. I had to tie the plants back up. After I pruned out the dead stuff, underneath, they fell over. Here are the plants under the new light:

Here they are under the 357+:

I had a question about buds for OG Kush. How developed should they be after three weeks. Is the stretch screwing me up here? Here are the buds forming:

Here is a shot of the whole thing. You can see the grilles I added on the right to hold everything up:
