Finally getting around to setting up the dissolved oxygen meter i bought. Gonna see what dissolved oxygen levels are in my water and how bubblers and nutes affect it, over the course of the grow.

Easy to set up, just takes some waiting time while the sensor polarizes (eats up initial oxygen in the sensor membrane, 15 min deal each time you turn on meter). Calibration is straightforward too.

Here it is polarizing: meter on left, sensor right.

Bucket of freshly filled, but no bubbler:
R-O water @ 62F: 2.9ppm dissolved O2
Tap water @ 62F: 3.1ppm dissolved O2

Bucket w 2 medium stones @ 62F, no plant: 9.1ppm dissolved O2.

Bucket w 2 med stones @67F, 1 plant: 8.0ppm dissolved O2.

Aerocloner @68F: 8.0ppm dissolved O2.

Day 0, rooted cutting transplant process:

4 clones going into each 2 x airstone 4-gal buckets. Buckets filled with 220ppm tap water plus 280ppm of equal parts (10mL each per gal) technaflora Root66 and Sugar Daddy; 68F; 6.1 pH; and 1mL/gal Garden Friendly Fungicide. Air temp is 74F, rh is 75+%. Using 96 elites @ ~80 ppfd.

1. Cut rapid rooter/root riot (rr) plugs in half vertically, leaving a hinge; soak for 10 mins in 4tblsp Azos bacteria:1gal water.

2. Remove rooted cutting and collar from cloner, take collar off of cutting.

3. Dip/spoon roots in equal parts of dry Mycos mycorrhizae and dry Azos bacteria.

4. Place cutting in rr, with rooted area below bottom of rr; feed roots thru hole cut in bottom of 3”net cup.

5. Feed a layer of hydroton under cutting, so that top of rr is roughly even with top of netcup. Fill in space around rr with hydroton.

6. Place net cup in lid of dwc bucket; repeat.

@Or_Gro excellent journal as always - always educational going through these. Excited to see the aerocloner working well.

@Prawn Connery do you have additional lights remaining? What's shipping to US typically look like?
Hi mate, yes there are a few left. Boards are 0.5kg, heatsinks are 1.2kg and you typically have to add 0.5kg for the box and packaging. So two boards would be 1.5kg and around US$30. Four boards would be 2.5kg and about US$45, and two boards with two matching heatsinks would be around 4kg and US$55. The heavier the weight, the cheaper it gets (relatively). We're not a business or anything, so don't have the luxury of a regular courier or anything. Everything is shipped by Australia Post. Cheers.

Lemme tell ya, crustaceans know how to pack a box, you will not pay for one gm or cubic cm that is unnecessary!

Lavalord, wtf is that mister contraption for increasing your humidity?
This is the one i’m using in this tent:

I’m using thus one in my mother tent:

I like the second one better, it has a variable output dial; the other one only has 3 discrete speeds....

I find these 5L/1 gal machines are just right max capacity needed for a single lightson period (you don't want it running during lightsoff).

god damn it seriously? i've been running mine 24/7 in the coco tent... /facepalm

didn't realize it needed to be on same timer as lights, doh

i have mine attached to a hygrometer to keep RH around 55-60

guess i'll need to lower that soon - going into flower

If you have an rh controller on it, then you should be able to run it during lightsout.

Without a controller, if humidifier runs at same level lightsoff as lightson, rh will rocket when heat from lights is off.
