Had a mishap last week, didn’t seat reservoir on humidifier perfectly...turned my seedlings into raisins....with 3 true leaf pairs
Or, so i thought....
They’ve already added a new leaf pair.
All 3 have brand spanking new roots shooting out of netcups: top plant and bottom right are branching, bottom left next day or so....
Hopefully at least one of them is fem...
They are in a 4-gal bucket, as soon as all of them have branching roots i will move them to separate buckets.
Two 96 elites running at 60w each, 24:0, 35” above tops, laying down ~225 ppfd:
The 3x3x5’ tent is still a little on the cool side, so i hung an incandescent light to warm up leaves to ~80F (69%rh)...
Wondered what the combined spectrum had become...

My target leaf surface temp is 80F. I could only get 71-72F with the 18” hang height above tops (sensor at tops),
I’ve been playing with it...last night i got close to 80f by lowering bulb to 8”, but it reduced the spread where leaves reached 80 to so small diam that only about a third of all leaves were at that temp.
Here is what that looks like (bulb and reflector blocking large amt of light from 96):
Obviously this amount of fr is not optimal, but the ir-leaf temp effect using various bulbs/diodes and reflectors is worth looking into for plants growing under white leds, where we know that leaf surface temp is sub-optimal vs hps....
For my purposes of getting these ?mother? plants beyond propagation stage in a 65f room, it seems to be helping...for the moment...
They have a second new pair of leaves visible, (5th true pair)....i’ll prob separate them into indiv buckets this weekend, let them recover for a couple more nodes, then sex them....

There was a guy a few month back asking about incandescent and halogen bulbs for far red enhancement, he was shut down pretty quick, but seems a logical option if in the right circumsantces.
I tried it myself a while back in my clone area to bring temps up a few degrees but that was just 36w of tube lights and a 40w halogen. Ratio was way out there at a guess and plants didnt like it at all.
Be interesting to see how they look in a week, i imagine the ratio you have would work well.

I don’t plan on a lot of work on this right now, but i think the right bulb(s) located in a way that does the job without blocking the big blue spike of the 96s, would make an excellent addition to prop/veg stages, when main lights may not be generating enough heat to warm up air temps -> leaf surface....

I have 4 boards with UV on route, two of which i will be running in a 3x3 or 2x4 around 300-350w.
The other two are going to light up my old 8x4 which my mate owns now.
Im going to loan him my citi1825 90cri cobs, 3 bars around 240w each and spread them out

So bar-board-bar-board-bar Running at max , Spread wont be as even but it will skull fuck his 2x 600w hps for sure
Mine will be run in a somewhat loose comparison to my v1 or v2 QBs.
Have to say the numbers on the prawns are impressive.
