I'm concerned that my crop will grow unequally, considering that I have a 1000w hps, and a 400w mh hung side by side overlooking two 3x6 planters. One planter basically has a light over each. I do have mylar set up all around the area, although i'm not sure if that can "even-out" the light. Please advise if I should take down the 400w mh, so the plants can get equal light or if I should leave it, or if I should get another 400mh to even the light amount.

If you can keep the temp down with them both running then leave them both up..the more light the better :^)

I was considering the same with my garden but was advised against it. A waist of power (and money) with minimal to no real benefit. But thats just what I've heard, good luck and look forward to know how it turns out.

LordPuffMeister, I appreciate the quick response, I'll be using the 1000w and the 400w mh for flowering, sorry if I didn't make that clear.. i'm all set for my veg area, luckily.

Thanks Jats, however I was wondering if anyone had some words of experience whether or not the difference of light over each planter will mis-yield my crop, or if the light gets evenly spread, regardless.

more the better I say. You could always rotate the lights OR plants every week or so it would even out. As long as you're getting at least 3000 lumens per square meter. Any more than around 7500 to 8000 is over kill. I would just rotate which ever is easier for you to manage.

Thanks doitinthewoods, sounds like something i'll try to do. Rotating the lights or having them on a track isn't a bad idea. Rotating the plants will be too difficult.

Luckily, I'm not hanging the lights til later this week so I'm hoping for more suggestions!
