The Most Revelatory Idea This Forum Will Know

I thought I'd share an idea that has arisen from observing a lot of grow logs over the last couple of weeks. Let me bounce it off ya'll and see if it sparkles.

Now, when coming into your grow log with new information and updates that specifically pertain to your grow, now, prepare yourselves for this, I don't want anyone to feel too faint and dizzy and smack their head on their desk or anything...

Update the original post with the new information so that the first post exists as a comprehensive documentation of the entirety of the grow!

Feel free to post it as a new post as well for all of the people who have been engaging in discussion throughout, but please consider the people who are browsing through and are looking to soak in as much information as they can. They want to see the progression and how things turned out, and having it all in the first post only makes sense. No one wants to agonize through twenty + pages of countless "great grow!" posts just to find periodic scraps of updates and the occasional picture.

Editing the first post is easy and only makes sense. Please consider this in the future as a service to the legions of marijuana growing enthusiasts who want to bask in appreciation of your kick ass grow. Thank you for your time. :joint:

Oh, and feel free to sticky this and/or implant it into everyone's brain with some sort of magnetic chip.

Great Idea!!!!! It is much easier to read but sometimes the post that follow have valuable ino that the origanl post lacks. I do agree people should not post a million grat grows or i will be watching. I think the encouragement is great, thats what rep is for.

I am new to this site(but not new to grow forums). A I found it stumbling through the internet searching for new ideas and methods as I grew board of the same old methods. IT became a job as opposed to a hobby(which is the real reason i started in the first place). The ones that remain short are the more informative ones, thats what they are supposed to be. Thats why this site has an inbox with your profile so you can send messages to the Starter of the post without junking up great post.

Does anyone know if there is a limit on post size.....It would defeat the purpose if you reached the post size limit and then had to add a post....people would still have to look for the updated info.....Good Idea though.....It would be great if people adapted this method of documenting their grows

all i am saying is if you have feedback for the writer of the post message him don't junk up the post log. If you have a question or important information then that is good to include for people to read. Not i will be watching or wow looks great.

Dude, I was with you about posting new info by way of editing the first post.....But suggesting that people not comment in the thread is unreasonable....Did it ever occur to you that if the original thread starter gets comments like "Looks Great" and "Ill be watching"....That, maybe he would be more inclined to Update posts with new info and pics.....Hmmmmmm

thank U NAT for kindly explaining how it is.

threadstarter:

seeing as it is encouraged for n00bs like urself to do as much reading as possible, they will only benefit from reading 20+ pages of another persons grow. ppl who "skim" the surface of the grows will never be as knowledgeable as someone who takes the time to throughly read and ask questions.

and if someone wants to know the lastest info on someones grow, they can just click the "Last >>" link when they select the page #.

thta why you send a message to them about the post
i get lots of PM's about my grow. I get REALLY good questions too.. the biggest disadvantage is that no one else can see my responses to the questions.

so instead I encourage ppl to post in the thread in case someone might also have the same question, instead of answering the question in PM's a hundred times.

I agree that there is a LOT more talking going on it Grow Journals now that so many females have joined the site. but U can always skim right past those posts, skip a few pages, or even look at a different journal entirely.

but if U have a particular question U can PM the threadstarter and ask them. theres a search function to better assist U also...

better yet, if U start ur own grow, PEOPLE will come to YOU. so much is to be learned once U get ur feet wet.

I mean come on, I dont see what the big deal is.

are U telling me that Uve never left someone a msg saying "great job" "nice buds" "nice plant" etc..?

hmmm... I believe there is a sticky somewhere which suggests that if you DO or DO NOT want people posting in your grow journal to go ahead and write that in your first post.

A lot of replies here, so I thought I'd just clarify on what I was suggesting. I wasn't saying that stuff shouldn't be posted in page after page for the discussions between those who have been following the grow as it has occurred, or that people shouldn't ask questions about the grow in the thread, or anything like that.

I'm simply saying that, when a grower posts new pictures, updates on how the grow is going, or any other pertinent information on the grow, it would be sweet if they also edited the original post, so that it became a comprehensive text on the grow. It makes reading a lot of grow logs more efficient for those who are digging through old pages of the forum for completed grows.

Now, if you can't edit posts after so many days, that's another thing, but in that case I'm sure the admins could easily tweak the settings to accommodate this amazing idea.

Also, I'm not saying people should do as much if they don't want to, only making a suggestion because it would be cool to see more people do it. In a month or two when my friend starts growing I'll definitely be posting a grow log and I'll do it that way. I'll find a good example or two of what I mean soon. :)

i am not discouraging that a t all but i know some people jut post to get the post record up, i think that is a shame.

I am not new to threads just this site. I have been growing for man years. But i can never learn enough about it there is always something new, or provocative that entices my curiosity. I am a student of m pants and i will always be. I think once you think out know it all thats when everything will go wrong.

the entire journal IS a comprehensive log of the grow.

I dunno about anybody else, but when I see a long ass post i either skim thru it or skip it all together. some ppl get so hung up on details that their single posts are hard to read. imagine if the first post was like this. not to mention duplicate posts, and it also creates more work for the owner of the journal, but hey if thats what YOU wanna do, then nobody is stoppin U.

plus when U get a new post in ur journal, or any thread at that, it moves it to the top of the list in the main Grow Journal section so ppl can see whats going on. if U just edit ur post ur thread wont get bumped to the top and will get lost in the many many pages of journals on here.

but firework, I do understand what U mean.. sometimes I see something on a journal that seems vital or relevant, then a few days later when I come back to find the same post I end up flipping thru pages and pages until i finally find what I was looking for, if I find it at all.

Good afternoonTranslations of the meaning of the Quran Has God removed the Curse of Babylon ?=====================================While reading the Bible, I came upon a story which Strengthened my faith in Islam even more. According to the Bible, Genesis 11:1 humans all spoke one language at one time. These humanswere trying to build a tower to see God. God Warned them to cease building thetower, yet they disobeyed God and continued to build the Tower. As a punishment for their disobedience, God cursed them by making them all speaka different language. This tower is now called the "Tower of Babylon." Genesis11:19 and that is where we get the word "Babel"The Holy Qur'an is their forgiveness, if the humans return to obeying God, thenthey are again united in a brotherhood and sisterhood of one Semitic language,Arabic. This is astonishing since only 27% of the Muslims are Arabs and there are almost1.5 Billion Muslims world wide, all united with one language, praying in unison, re-united, this is also predicted in the Bible; "For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the Lord, to serve him with one consent." Zephaniah 3:9In the Strong's Bible Dictionary, the word "language (saphah)" in this verse can also mean [ side, edge, border]Therefore, Zephaniah 3:9 can also be translated to read "I will TURN people to ONE direction" which we witness with Muslims all facing -East- to pray and also speaking one language in prayer, a language which non-Arabs describe as a "pure language" God forgave humans and lifted the curse exclusively forthose who submit to God's will (Islam). World wide, over a billion people gather worshiping with one language, one direction, one book, one God. Re-united as brothers and sisters in towards the Kabba which is believed to be directly under the Throne of God in Heaven. The rich with the poor, the educated with the un-educated, people from all parts of the world re-united Obeying One God, Submitting their will to God which is the meaning of Islam.""And hold fast, all together, by the rope which Allah (stretches out for you), and be not divided among yourselves; and remember with gratitude Allah's favour on you; for ye were enemies and He joined your hearts in love, so that by His Grace, ye became brethren; and ye were on the brink of the pit of Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus doth Allah make His Signs clear to you: That ye may be guided." Translation of the Holy Qur'an 3:103 For more details click her
