The Mother plant [Cloning]

I want to keep one or two mother plants for cloning.
I want to know how to do that [Not the cloning bit]

Few questions.
1. Do you keep the mother plant under 18/6 light? If so, how long can you keep a plant under the 18/6 light and how big would most plants grow.

2. You would want clone the female one. So, can you clone a flower plant, so you can make sure you are cloning females later on.

i heard of people keeping a mother for 12 years
and to keep a mother u just keep in veg 18/6 or 20/4 or 24/0 if it was me i would just do 24 then u dont have to worry about a timer
yes u can clone i have 3 clones from flower plants and most say u got to revegg to get to root or it will take a month but i but mine straight into dwc in flower no veg and in 10 days got roots 6 inches long

get a female take a clone then when it puts off new shoots take clones from those and reveg for a mother or take clones of veg plants and label them and donor then flower right away and keep female clones throw away males clones and male donors and keep female donors as future mothers it is your choice several ways to go

Or you could just let it veg and then sex it before you take clones without flowering it...preflowers ftw!

A mj plant should show preflowers after about 8 weeks of veg. Itll either show some pistils or some balls and then you can get rid of the males. If the plant is kept in 18/6 or 24/0 it will show preflowers without going into full flower

With my mother plant, i just keep it 18/6, feed it here and there, more plain water than else, and when it get's too big i either just take loads of clones or hack the thing down to a near-stump (leave viable growth on of course) and let it re-grow again

When she gets root bound you can even prune the roots. I have a couple mothers I've had so long (many years) I don't even remember when I got them.

to find your females take a cuttin and clone and put under 12/12 and then youll know witch is female,and then find wat female growing the best and use it as mother
