Well, I'm tired of wiping up drips. I've tried silicone beads, silicone weatherstrip, foam weatherstrip, the damn thing still leaks and drips water. I've adjusted heads and tried everything else I could think of.... Whomever said the Rubbermaid Roughneck doesn't leak is questionable. I've gone ahead and ordered an EZ Cloner. While the fogger was giving some results, I'm not happy with the success rate.... many seem to die off just as they start to develop roots.
I'll be taking the Rubbermaid cloner outside to root some vegetable plants once the EZ Cloner gets here. I also have a spare top and some 3.75" net pots and root guards, so I might just use it for DWC as well.
To anyone thinking about building your own cloner, it can be cheaper, but once you start adding everything up, your going to go spend approx $50-$60. The silicone bead sold for doors and windows would work well, if the damn adhesive on the back was worth anything. My final straw was waking up and seeing a puddle of water on my shelf and on my floor. Luckily the floor is covered with tarp, newspaper and a cotton drop cloth. The shelf was lined with panda-poly and it just collected the water. The neoprene inserts that I used to waterproof the entry points for the air line and pump cord were leaking, as was the top that I had just spent $20 sealing with a top of the line silicone bead weatherstrip. I'm done sinking money into a homemeade cloner that continues to leak,...
