No, it is absolutely an amazing board for the pure efficiency freaks. I'm just nor one of them. Its ballance or nothing to me.
Sorry if i am honest & so many disagree.
Stephen knows my intentions are to help overall development, not focussed on only electrical efficiency sales like the majority here.
Peace!

dunno...not sure i like the spread? im probs wrong.

i just wanna see their new rack light...another white plus red panel is just another white plus red panel...isnt it?

I agree, as well as the rest of his lights that lack knowledge of the value of mixed NMs roll to max plant growth. SF has that knowledge, but ignorant people just don't get it

Efficiency? what the hell does that have to do with plant growth? Kinda like owning a monster V8 but never going over 55, cause, you know, it's more efficient :wall:

Hey guys. This 648+ is for super high efficiency and 4 will replace a DE on a 600 driver. @hybridway2 be patient..... We are always developing. Great things are coming but Rome wasn't built in a day. We do have a Rack light/ big light for low mounting heights coming. It is not bars like every other light "

We are developing another board as we speak. No it will not meet the efficiency of the QB648+ but it may satisfy some who are spectrum "snobs" if you will. Do not expect it for 2-3 months though. This virus has hit our supply chain hard. We have great people helping from all our suppliers trying to keep us stocked. Lead times continue to grow. So new products using parts we currently don't use is gonna take a little longer.

Hey Steve. Loving the look of the new boards and the prospect of a "spectrum" board.
What would it take for you to put out a cheaper lm561c/h/any V1 equivalent version to this board on the cheap? Some of us are fans of more diodes (even if they are less efficient) rather than higher spec diodes. You spoke before about possibilities of making 90cri V1 boards, id love myself a 3500k 90cri Qb648with redsup even if it meant using lower spec than lm301b.

I agree, there's a reason those V1 boards are sold out.

I'd be curious to see how it would affect the sales of their new boards if they kept selling the old ones. I would think that those who have the money would still buy the newer boards but, those who can't afford to and can't/don't want to DIY, would purchase their older models as long as the pricing was even slightly more expensive than the the Meiju and Kingbright boards. They would probably have to sell them at a really low margin, though, so it may not be worth it unless they could sell a lot.

IMO the average hobby grower would never see the difference in a V1 to a V2 board. These new boards are good for the person just getting into the scene. I personally see no reason to upgrade my original V1 boards until they die.

Yeah, $1100 bucks for a new untested light? I'm not feelin it..... Lot's of efficiency specs. However, how does it perform from a finished product stand point? It's basically a 600 watt light that's supposed to give 1000 watt performance. That statement/tagline is used in just about every light that utilizes quantum/wide spectrum LED. It's great that once can possibly achieve 2grs per watt. Not so great if it's marginal weed with no bud density/frost or visual appeal.
I'm all for efficient lights, more for effective lights and ALL FOR efficient and effective lights.

I was looking into purchasing the QB 648 Diablo with slate 2 heat sink. Does anyone know the best driver option to power it?
