And the supreme court ruled that plant/space limits was unconstitutional if it went against what a doctor decides is necessary.

And a doctor said you're allowed to have 36 regardless of what prop 19 says. So what's the problem?

That's a bunch of crap. Anyone here can form a corporation and start a business. Why should I vote in favor of prohibition because I should be looking out for those who are too lazy to form a legal business?
the problem is, prop 19 does set forth limits. whether recreational or not.

i'm still wondering why. why does prop 19 set a one ounce limit? why only one ounce?

No..they ruled that the senate bill that added restrictions to what the citizens enacted as law went against the California state Constitution...a voter initiative, can only be amended by a vote of the people...and prop 215 set no limits on garden square footage or plant numbers.

And you can form a legal business now...grow a bunch of great meds...sell to clubs...hell open your own compassionate store front...prop 19 just limits your competition! Let's be honest here.

true very true it does and no matter the legislation or state or even federal change i believe there will always be restrictions. similar to alcohol. they may grow more lenient, but we are remiss to think the government wont want their cut. i too would love to see far less restriction, but again i ask isn't 1 better than none? as stated previously those limitations will not apply to 215b proponents and patients. those restrictions are set by the doctor. prop 19 will be set for the rest of us non-medicators.

prop. 19 makes it ILLEGAL for you to possess that ounce of marijuana if you buy it from anywhere other than the handful of licensed dispensaries that will be allowed to sell it. you heard me right: if you buy an ounce off your current dealer, your neighbor, or at a party, YOU WILL BE ACTING ILLEGALLY and will be subject to punishment.
lol. As if buying from a dealer or your neighbor isn't illegal now. What do you expect? Do you really think California is going to pass a law saying that anyone who wants to can stand on a street corner and sell bud?

You're not at all being realistic. How are they going to know where you bought your buds? Does your local dealer give receipts and force you to keep it? All you have to do is if you get stopped and a cop asks tell him you bought it at a dispensary. How's he going to prove you didn't?

That's an insane reason not to vote for legalization. No ballot measure that allows people to sell bud to whoever they want where ever they want when ever they want would ever even make it on the ballot, let alone pass and become law. That's an absurd expectation.

i just want a "real reason" to the one ounce limit. what were they thinking when they came up with that and why is it one of the main focus points?

i don't get it. seems ..........

nono that's a fair question thank you for bringing it up. where does that limit stem from? why 1 ounce? why not 5 grams like Amsterdam? why not a pound? id like to know that as well, but i still stand by saying some is better than none.

note: every time i see your avatar i think of team america world police and that song and it makes me laugh. also the song "praise the lord and pass the ammunition" from the lady wielding that pump action boomstick.

And you have a doctors rec so what's the problem? Who does this hurt? People with out a doctors rec? They are legally allowed to grow zero sq feet now, I'm pretty sure 25sq feet is more than zero sq feet.

Who walks around with more than an ounce that is not dealing? The ounce limit is put in place to stop street dealing.

how does the one ounce limit stop street dealing? i can't go to the store twice? i do accept this as an answer.

it doesn't matter who walks around with an ounce. the question was "why the one ounce limit"? pointing fingers is not the right answer.

lol. No they can't. That would be illegal. That would be violating your constitutional rights. The US supreme court decided that over 100 years ago and it's been that way ever since.

The presumption of innocence is in fact the law.

this is BS and you know it.

medical growers, personal friends of mine, were arrested all the time. held as guilty until they could prove their medical validity. then had to fight to try to get some of their shit back.

you think you can convince me these habits will suddenly change?

HA
HA

cops will not become your friend if you vote yes on 19.

sorry to spoil it for you.

you are not entirely incorrect. a good friend of mine is a retired L.A.P.D. undercover narcotics detective (no ive never been arrested) and though it is unconstitutional this kind of labeling and undeserved persecution happens all the time. in every state.

how does the one ounce limit stop street dealing?
Because pretty much no one except dealers carries more than an ounce. I guess it doesn't stop someone from selling 8ths, but it stops people from selling pounds.

i can't go to the store twice?
Sure, if you go home first and drop off your other ounce.

i do accept this as an answer.
Well if you did accept an answer from me, that would be the first time.

it doesn't matter who walks around with an ounce
lol. ok then

. the question was "why the one ounce limit"? pointing fingers is not the right answer
Who am I pointing fingers at? I'm calling dealers dealers? How could I be so stupid.

You asked why, I'm telling you why it's that way. You can like the answer or not, but that's why the law is what it is.

Currently, what do they charge you with if they catch you with more than an ounce? I'll make it easy for you. Intent to ____.
