Its only the second day of shooting powder but I can see calyxes forming on this one plant that was full of bud sites, but they were just all white pistils making them look like little cotton balls. Now they're starting to actually form into real buds. I don't think this stuff is going to perform miracles for me, but I think it definitely works and I'm anxious to see what happens in a few weeks as opposed to days. It has made me a little less pessimistic as to how much I'll end up yielding though, because I had basically given up on that plant, writing it off to bad genetics. Now I think I'll have one more plant in the harvest and the rest of them should only get better with time.

I don't think superthrive is an organic product if thats what you wanted to know. Most nutes arent. That stuff was created in 1940, I'm sure it works ok but its basically just B vitamins and some hormones. I think the best way to use it would be to follow the directions on the package and you'll be fine. I've heard from some people at my local hydro shop that its really not that great but they keep it in stock because some people like to use it anyway

you can use a bit of it during veg. don't use it during flowering. search for it (TOP RIGHT OF YOUR SCREEN) and you'll find 5000 threads on superthrive

I have used nothing but H&G and the entire line up they offer is amazing. The root excel and amino treatment are simply amazing products and well worth their high cost and I have yet to see another product that offers similar results. The root excel combined with great white or orca gives out of this world root growth.

However I have one question for you other house and garden users, how hot is their mix? I am currently doing an aggressive feed regimen using their entire line up, so far the ladies have loved it, but the last week or so I have started to notice some problems that could be nutrient burn...I've attached a few pictures for reference...my ppms are insane with aggressive feeding, but I have been on that regimen for almost two months into veg now with no problems until recently, which is why I would like your guys' input on their nute strength because I am unsure if I have a deficiency or burn...

It does look like nute burn to me and the guys at my hydro store said to NEVER go aggressive with H&G because it will kill your MJ plants. I am not sure about this for certain but I use 25-50% strength of the normal feeding schedule and I have still burnt my plants every now and then, but I am in DWC so it may be different for you. I always try to give the plants the least amount of nutes possible while still getting very aggressive growth because I think it makes for a cleaner end product.

Thats nute burn and you can get it without going aggressive. Like all nute companies they want you to use a lot so you go into buy more, makes sense. Looks like some cal mag def too.. But yeah back off the nutes and after this feeding flush with perhaps straight water. I rarely flush unless I get nute burn because drip clean is a bad ass salt build up killer!

Good advice, thanks guys. This is my first run doing an aggressive feed with H&G, I've always had great result using the regular strength regimen but I decided what the hell and went with something different this time...I'm actually amazed that these girls stood up to such a strong nute cycle for as long as they did, these plants just soaked up until about the last week or so, I guess they finally had enough....I will flush tomorrow with a cleansing solution and go back down to regular strength feed, the aggressive is just too much...

However I did also think that there was a calcium magnesium deficiency as well, so I added a light dose of calmag so when I back off the aggressive feed I am still going to leave the calmag in the feed regimen for a bit to see if that helps....

Either way, I don't think I could ever use another nutrient besides H&G now, their nutes might be expensive but you get what you pay for and they have always given me my moneys worth with great results

Sounds like you have a good grasp on what you need to do, good luck with everything.

I was just wondering how high your ppms get with the aggressive feed, I've gotten all the way to 1750 following the regular chart and i'd be surprised if my plants were able to survive any more nutes

Oh jeez the last time I fed them with the aggressive feed, my ppms were at almost 2800 with great white mixed in...The aggressive feed is no joke haha...which is why I am amazed these girls took abuse like that for so long without problems

Goddamn! Thats 1000ppms more. I thought about doing the aggressive feed but figured the plants grow so well on the normal plan so why change it. That is pretty impressive the plants can take the aggressive feed though, maybe they build up a tolerance for it over time then eventually it gets to be too much, which caused your nute burn

Hahah my plants are on week 4 of veg and the PPM is around 300. Oh and they are growing about an inch a day so it's not like they are starving.

:weed:

That was the exact same reaction I had hahaha I had always stuck with a normal feed cycle with H&G but I wanted to try an aggressive feed just once, don't think I'll be doing that again though haha I think the high ppms speak of the quality H&G brings to the table though, because ppms that high should have done much more damage than they did

I just started the last few weeks with shooting powder and my ppms are back up to the 1700+ range. I would think most nute lines would severely burn plants at those levels but I get good results and am loving the shooting powder

The shooting powder is great stuff, you should also look into the atami bloombtastic to supplement it with....the atami is phenomenal stuff and I would highly recommend it

I'm using H&G base nutes, root exel, GH floralicious plus, and botanicare cal mag. But i'm about to put my plants in the flower room so i was wondering what bloom nutes were the best. I think i'm definately going to get the bud XL but i was wondering what other product you guys would recommend by house and garden for bloom. Thanks in advance.

Bud XL for sure, shooting powder, and give the Atami Bloombtastic a try because it is phenomenal, especially when combined with bud xl.....those are the best blooming agents you can get, but I would highly suggest bud xl and bloombtastic for sure

Thanks for the advice I'll definately look into the bloombtastic but have you had any experience with the top booster because I heard that can really do wonders for your yield.

I used Top Booster, Bud XL, and Shooting Powder in my lat grow and it really turned out well. I got 22 ounces from 4 plants.
