After reading this thread and using advanced for over five years I ended up giving H G a call they were very polite and are gonna send me a trial pack to try their product out so we will see how it develops.
MadFarmer MOAB. Works well and doesn't raise ppm through the roof as much as shooting powder.I have decided to not use shooting powder or top booster this grow. Is there any other additives I can use in place of sp I am using bud xl. Everything is looking good. Just curious. I'm on day 33 of flower.
MOAB is extremely hot. Althoughn it doesn't raise PPM, be careful and only use it at half strength.MadFarmer MOAB. Works well and doesn't raise ppm through the roof as much as shooting powder.
That being said, I've seen plants thrive under the H&G full line with an EC of 3.3 at the end of floweing. It is probably genetic related, as that strain seems to be extremely resilient and able to take a severe ppm beating with a big smile.
You mind me asking why?I have decided to not use shooting powder or top booster this grow. Is there any other additives I can use in place of sp I am using bud xl. Everything is looking good. Just curious. I'm on day 33 of flower.
What is your humidity? You mind me asking why?
I was going stop using it on dense flower strains, my last two grows netted 30% bud rot on my largest cola's, after the first "bout of rot" I increased the air movement in the tent added 2 more fans, my temps run 68 lights off, 79-80 lights on.
Both times it showed up 1-2 days after flush has started. The stuff works great on diesel strains!
48 - 52What is your humidity?
You shouldn't be getting bud rot at that humidity range. Do you defoliate your plants at all of do you leave them with all the fan leaves?48 - 52
It will jump to 60 as I'm chopping
I'm in the bay area so stays pretty dry
I just remove lower growth. Maybe 2-3 fan leaves if they are shadowing a prime bud.You shouldn't be getting bud rot at that humidity range. Do you defoliate your plants at all of do you leave them with all the fan leaves?
Just a suggestion but maybe defoliating will allow for better air circulation and may prevent the bud rot.I just remove lower growth. Maybe 2-3 fan leaves if they are shadowing a prime bud.
Lol, No room for leaves, these buds (cola's) must of weighed 3-4 lbs
About the size of my forearm when I cut them, the rot was smack in the middle of two of them
Below the rot 5" seemed moderately moist, at the rot, (about 3")was the same just moist,
But the top 5" was like a water balloon (no rot) but totally saturated.
But above
Thanks for the advise, but I, with the help of my hydro guy may have figured it out.Just a suggestion but maybe defoliating will allow for better air circulation and may prevent the bud rot.
Dude I see the culprit right there, in the lower left corner. Get that thing out of your tent!!! I don't let my dog anywhere my tent and she knows when she is too close. Thanks for the advise, but I, with the help of my hydro guy may have figured it out.
The only thing thats change was going from Coco to Hugo Blocks for the two grows. Oh, and now I have 4 fans in there.
But the Hugo's hold a lot of water, and for flush I never added any SM 90, tension reducer so that was probably the main culprit.
Here is a photo, the rot was on two colas on the far right, (one is barely visible) they were above the canopy and directly under the light.

It depends on your flowering time, you should consult the nutrient calculator because that will tell you the proper amount and time to add Shooting Powder. Can I use shooting powder now I'm at day 42? Idk why that stuff scares me.
I got foxtails on my Blue Dream grown in an undercurrent DWC system with CO2 but not in an other tent that is just hand watered coco with no CO2. I was trying to figure out why I got the foxtails since I basically used the same nutes for each grow, the only difference being the base nutes. I used Cocos for the coco and Aqua Flakes for the undercurrent DWC. I am not 100% convinced that Top Shooter (liquid Shooting Powder) is to blame. This is just my opinion,
Shooting powder works great if you want more weight on your bud. The 30% increase is possible, but (I) end up with mostly foxtails on my buds, and the new growth seems to continue for about 9-10 days, this new growth is seen by some dispensaries as being "Hermied", making it a little harder me to recoup my expenses, those that know, know it's not a problem, it's just not as pretty as it could be.
Other then that the stuff works great.
