hey guys do you think theres enough room in a 3x3 9 foot tall space enough room for the 5 plants i have in 5 gallon buckets. will space become an issue? I have another room but it would be a bitch to move everything and clean out another room. the website i bought my 400w mh/hps switchable ballast from said 400w was optimal for 3x3 but i wonder if 5 plants might be pushing it.
this is just my opinion... but i do think space would become an issue whith that many plants.. once they start flowering and stuff... theyre gonna be sooo tight and compact in there.. alotta leaves are gonna shad other part of the plants and what not... thats just my opinion tho... i think 4 would be better... like one in each corner

i guess we will see if it comes to it i guess i can use a bigger room also i started a grow journal called 400w closet grow if anyones interested in following my first indoor grow always could use help and advice.

GetAttachment.jpg this is a pic of my 3 ladies in a 3'x2' box. theres 3 of them and there is no room for any more. i can easily see that a 3'x3' would hold 4 but would be a tight fit

update: Chronic is getting bigger after recovering from her minor nute burn (sensitive). The warlock is still growing faster than i've ever seen anything grown. Rocklock is staying nice and short, but still making new nodes. The white widow is the saving grace for g13 labs for me. It's growing nice, let alone alive past the seedling stage, so i'm satisfied.

Yeah i do have a bigger room if needed so we will see. Heres a link to my journal https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/345891-400w-closet-grow-sour-cream.html. I will have a picture update every saturday until i harvest some sweet smoke. Also I have 40+ outdoor plants super lemon haze, arjans strawberry haze, lsd, NYPD, and Blue Mystic. But due to the proximity of my house to the farm they are on i wont post grow pics but i will have some nice bud porn to share when i bring home the harvest for drying and trimming. Hope you guys keep up with my journal thanks.

I HATE SPIDER MITES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So after harvesting my 8 Purple Urkel plants in flower, I started to a few white spots on the leaves of some plants. So I looked a little closer at the 24 Blueberry in flower and they have mites fairly bad. I didn't pay much attention to this grow so I never even noticed them.

Now looking in my veg cab, they are all over my veg plants. The new seedlings don't look like they have many, if any, mites yet. But my 30 something other plants plus my moms have decent case of spider mites. I will be spaying them down tonight with a mix of organicide and neem oil. After I harvest the blueberry next week, I will be giving them another good spray and bombing the entire room plus both of the cabs.

These seedlings were looking so great but I am worried the organicide/neem spray may put them a week or two behind. I might not be flowering these beauties this time around which is disappointing. I have plenty of other plants to fill my cab, but I really want to get these freebies into flower so I can get some new strains going. If I can't flower these in the next 2-3 weeks, I will just be keeping them around as mothers and flowering their clones instead of flowering the seed plant and keeping a clone around for the mom.

Hopefully this infestation is easliy taken care of. Wish me luck.

Just fed second week of nutrients today. They are about a foot tall getting bigger everyday. Will be cutting clones in 2 weeks and putting them into flower. Plan to take at least 8 clones off each of the Wappa, Sensi Star, and probably 4 off the Motivation. The Rocklock seems to be stretching a lot with no side branches barely. Unlike the others. I also have 2 OG Kushs I started the same time and they are about 4 inches taller then the Sensi or Wappa.
The Wappa actually is my favorite plant thus far with side branching the same height as the main cola. There is 3 main branches right now on the Wappa

I hate mites too, unfortunately they are NEVER easy to get rid of. I use Azatrol, it is expensive but it comes as a concentrate and goes a long way. Good luck to you!

all these worries are why i'm getting some ladybugs this week
If your lights are not air cooled you will be hearing the pop of lady bugs as they explode on your lights.

The battle of the mites has begun. I haven't had mites for 2yrs and I'm hoping its another 2yrs before I get them again. I sprayed down all my plants with a mix of 1/2 tablespoon Organocide, 1/2 teaspoon Neem Oil, and 10ml Humboldt Sticky (surfactant). Last time I used this method I only had to do one application and this knocked the mites out for the past 2yrs. I also sprayed all my walls with a bleach solution and will be spraying all the walls and carpet with pyrithrum after I harvest along with another spray on the plants.

Anybody who has spider mites should really try this method. I heard about it from a grower I know who has been published on the cover of Cannabis Culture mag, along with a photo gallery of his buds inside another issue. He definetly knows what he is doing and this is the best mite removal I have ever used. Plus the Organocide can be purchased at Home Depot for $12.

I sprayed the plants last night, so after about 12hrs none of the plants are showing signs of stress at all. I was worried about the seedlings getting all messed up, but they are not showing any signs that they will have problems. The plants just look nice and shiny from the neem. Other than the fact that my grow room smells like sushi, things are going great so far.

As far as the plants go, they have all been topped and are all between 5"-6". They just got transplanted last night into deep 5" pots so I'm expecting them blow up in the next week. They were not root bound in the short 4" pots but they were drying them out every 3-4 days so I figured it was time to repot. I'll try and get some pics up asap.

It's air cooled with a 6" 340cfm fan, and i have the intake covered with a screen so they won't get sucked in.

Your plants look haelthy, but they do look like they have a little too much N. I don't know if you have been feeding them already, but if you are, I would say back off the N for a little bit. You don't want your plants looking that super deep green almost plastic looking. I don't know if its just the pics of what, but thats how they look to me. I'm not trying to knock your grow or anything, I'm just trying to help out. A lot of times, less is more. Especially when it comes to seedlings.

Thanks man maybe the seaweed extract has alot of N in it cause i have added no nutes. Ill back off spraying them as much and hopefully the will be ok. The picture is acurate so they are suffering from to much just i didnt know.

Most of the time new growers end up ruining their crops, not by lacking care, but by giving them "too much" care. Let the plants do what they are going to do. Nutes will help, but only to a certain extent. Plants can actually make their own food just from sun and water. And plants have plenty of nutrients stored up in their seed to last them a good 2 weeks if not more. You don't even need to start feeding plants until their "embryo" leaves turn yellow and drop.

I would spray them with plain water for a few days to strip away some of the N from the leaves. Once they get back to a "normal" green color that is not shiny and plastic looking, then you can start spraying with your sea weed. Plants that have too much N actually grow slower than if they had 1/2 the amount they can actually handle. Take things slow and it will turn out great.
