The only Survivor!!!

What's up ladies n gents

So here's the story. Had like 4 baby girls 2 weeks in lookin healthy under 3 soft white CFls. One i lost bc a stupid mistake, the other two started having twirled leaves and stopped growing until they died :(. My biggest little girl started growing her second pair of true leaves lookin awesome. Now she's under 3 daylight CFls. (6500k). Woke up this morning to see her twizzling up. I was like Nooooooo! I was thinking she was too close to the lights (1 inch) maybe heat stress? Water her with a spray bottle never really soak the soil. Too little water? I wish I was a fucking botanist lol. Help me out guys if u need pics of the set up lmk. This is my last plant ( was fortunate enough to find like 5 seeds in some yummy purple. Help this one survive!

Oh yeah, the only ventilation she gets is when I water her and basically fan the room with cardboard lol. I'm in a cold state and they only sell small fans in summer. Fmllll

Sounds like they were too close to the lights, and maybe under-watered. New sprouts from seedlings need to be a humidity dome, and given ph-adjusted straight water in a soak-and-dry mode, with occasional misting. That's what has worked for me, but listen to what the more experienced growers have to say.

Hey, you did good getting them to germinate and sprout. Hang in there!

Just added a bucket of water in the box for humidity. Sprayed the walls of the box as well. She is now about 9 inches away from the lights. What do y'all mean by "soak-dry" method? And has anyone had these twizzling leaves and saved them?

Soak-dry means just that: Water them until the surface is moist, then leave them alone until the medium is dry to the touch. Over-watering is a really common mistake. Just my $.02 worth.

I've read that but it's a bit vague. I ca spray the soil until moist but I can also pour water in the soil until moist. Pour water and occasionally spray ? The Ph is read 6.4 and the water she is eating is 6.5. Should the water be ph 7 flat? Is that what is causing her to look like a twizzler?

The idea is to give her a big drink, then let the water drain away so the roots aren't soaking all the time, which is a death sentence. Do you have drain holes cut in the bottom of the cup? If not, cut some. Then pour water onto the medium until you see it coming out the bottom. Then set it so it can continue to drain. Repeat when the medium is dry to the touch, 1-3 days.

There are some excellent tutorials here on riu, and on YouTube. Check out several - there's a lot of bad info floating around, so read enough to get a general consensus.

Good luck, Noob! You're doing OK:clap:

Hey guys. No holes in the bottom of the pot. Fml my plant is dying as we speak. I woke up today (no watering yesterday) and she is even worse. At work so can't attend to her but as soon as I get home I'm getting her a pot with holes. Thank you so much y'all. Ill keep you guys posted.
