I'm interested in the numbers involved with watering/over watering. My set ups are 45 gal and I got away with about 5 gal a week, a bit more on the biggest plants when grown, just judging by the soil drying out. This seems low but it's been my experience. Even though your setup are in the ground I would estimate them 50-100?? If so, do you have an idea of what you were giving them per week that you considered (or was shown to be) overwatering?
When i I was a teen I imagined doing a bunch of research on herb and writing a book about it. As I grew up I assumed all of this had been done, particularly with the abundance of information on they internet. But now that I actually am a medical patient and actively seeking out information I realize their seems to be a lack of actual numbers. This kind of re-inspires me to want to do this. Studies with varying amounts of water, fan leaf removal, and Sugars (sweet or molasses), done to indica, sativa, and hybrids seem like they would be very easy to do if it was a medical growers main priority. It would also provide some much needed facts. Maybe I'm ignorant to it but it seems like a lot of the cannabis growing wisdom is more based on anecdotal evidence than numbers from actual research.
