I have a closet setup. It is 4X2X4, I have a 5 CFL light setup one Spotlight with reflector and 4 mounted (its like the) shape of 5 on a dice).
I germinated, and planted in a peatmoss/perlite mix. Plant was planted and watered. Its on an 18/6 light schedule, and has good airflow.
I purchased a ppm and PH meter today and some other items. I do not have a soil PH tester. My thought was I could test my water, and test run off from watering and compare.
Here's the problem, My water going in was at a 7 (tap water + PH Down) but the run out after watering was 4.5.... I tried using my tap water 9.1 and it came out a 5.8.
My guess is that the miracle grow mix that I used has more then advertised ( supposed to be organic peat-moss and perlite, but after a second glance it does have a time release nutrient supplement.
The plant is still in the early sprouting process. I found better mix that is supposedly more neutral. Is it safe to transplant at just 8 days into the cycle. Of course if i do there will be some crossing of the base mixtures, but I will try to minimize. My guess is that I might want to let the roots develop more and just treat it the best that i can before Transferring it into a new medium. sorry for the noob ramble but advise is welcome.
