I've been trying to figure out the best solution for my next grow

probably start with smth like this

its outer dimensions are
Width: 78 cm(31")
Depth: 50 cm(20")
Height: 190 cm(75")

here is what im thinking

using the 6"hyper fan and phresh filter
and the pots are 20L air pots

2 in flower 1 month apart
1 in veg- take cuttings 2 weeks before she goes to flower and repeat

I couldnt be stuffed drawing ducting but obviously it will run from the blue thing(hyper fan) to the grey thing(inline filter)

I wanted to push into the filter to further reduce noise from the fan and so opted for the inline so that I can just put a vent grill ontop

the intakes i'll use the scrub ninja style light proof vent inlets

the veg cab will have a 4000k cob running at 25w(im debating throwing in a couple watts of 450nm as well)

the flower cab will have 2 cobs at 47w each plus 65 watts of other leds totalling around 160w

im not real good with sketchup but i wanted to know exactly how much wood Id need and also to see if any one had opinions or saw any issues before i get started?

the one thing not in this version is that I plan to add a lip around the flower and veg area so the door will close light tight with weather stripping or course

Looks good. Make sure the filter is not touching the walls or ceiling of that section too much... or you might not get enough air actually leaving the cabinet. good luck

Looks good I would use 1× it's really light and strong (once screw off and square) you have to pre drill tho.

maybe throw up a few srips of that sticky smd leds in the flower

like on the walls get some side lighting going


otherwise looks good

But wood to answer your question more directly. 1×3\4 pieces of ruff cut wood strips. Used on concrete as a backer for drywall or playwood etc.

I'm actually looking for a cabinet myself. Ibelieve building one is just as fulfilling as moding one to your needs. I just want one I can store inside the main house and not my attic. I have no ladder to get in it but. Yeah I would mod one if it fits all your needs and you can seal it and all that. So I'm either way because you need what you need. right?

yeah i need it to be in the spare bedroom without looking like anything but furniture

so I've thought a lot about this and I've reconsidered the bench hight gr0w, reason being that I have a bad back so don't want be bending over all the time to train and inspect, and I love salivas so I don't wanna have headroom trouble.


This is meant to be a ca for as long as it stays intact without any twerking so I want think these things through now.

Once I have decided on my exact specs I will decide which lighting option will be best.


so using the size from the ikea cupboard roughly

some of this is not to size( the fan filter is because i wanted to see if it will fit)

the veg chamber will just recirculate air un and out of flower

the electric ventilation and drying chamber are combined into one space.

the floor separating that from the flower chamber will just be a light proof vent grill as will all the cut outs you see for venting.

this plan will give me a big and easy to access veg area for keeping 1 big veger and 2-3 bonsai moms

as planned, 2 plants in flower 4 weeks apart

the red things are LED drivers.

You will probably need more drying space for how big your flowering section is unless you have other means to dry.

I have been pondering this style layout for a while to replace my micro ngb cabinet I have been using for seven years.

My thoughts were to put the veg area on the bottom and feeding the air into the flower chamber through an air cooled heatsink that doubles as a light trap.

Extraction would be from the middle top and would pull from the outside edges of the flower chamber and over the flower heatsinks.

The gears in my head have been grinding on this one for over a year now. The cabinet I plan on using is a metal garage cabinet that measures 18"x36"x60". I would probably run my cxa-3070's in it to start with but I've been eyeing some new chips.

I applaud your efforts, especially putting the veg/clone section off the floor to keep from bending over...
But, I don't know how tall you are, it seems you're at or above shoulder height for that area as a work surface.
(imagine top shelf of the fridge situation)

It's possibly my visualization of these drawings.
Is there planned access to veg area while flower in 'dark' phase?

Can't wait to see if come off the drawing board and how it's equipped.

thanks for the input

drying space, yeah probably but considering only half the flower will be chopped at once, I have 40cm hight in there and enough side to side space that i think ill get away with putting in a nylon string and using clothes pegs, perhaps ill have to cut the colas in half but anyways its for personal not sale so I'm ok with that.


veg area on the bottom seems like a lot of bending over and working on my knees,
plus the heat from the flower will warm the medium to help rooting
plus with the veg above when i open the cab the flower light will be below my eye line, so it won't blind me when i look at my plants


yeah i decided to stay away from metal because i will use a lot of MDF for soundproofing the fan and its just easier to work with than metal

i went to measure just now, you are right, the veg being that high is just above nipple hight.
It will be hard to work like that, probably the best thing to do is drop the veg area lower(make it taller) this will also add a bit more hight in the drying chamber.

what hight do you think? if i drop it 10cm(4 inches) its just below my boobs, that seems ok?

any thoughts on humidity?

I'm a bit worried about keeping the veg above 50% and the flower below, probably just keep the fan from veg to flower running low?

Just keep a fan moving air in the flowering area. Stagnant air is worse than higher humidity

Yeah I'm not too worried about the flower, I'll have the Hyperfan so total overkill.

More thinking how to keep the veg area high humidity, and most importantly to slow dry buds

I think I'll redesign this last set up
Keep the ventilation and electrical in one but have the drying off the side of the veg so I can maintain a steady humidity for drying flowers.
