The perfect set up

Hi im finaly going to have a go at growing myself after 10 years of smoking it thought i should. Right im going to grow it in my loft in a grow tent ive opting for the secret jardin dr 80 grow tent with a 400w light a 5" rhino pro carbon filter as ive heard these a best on market and i dont want any excess smell also going to use a extractor fan only intending on growing 2 plants going to get some cuttings off someone i know. My question to you fellow tokers is does this sound an okay setup and is there anything missing ofthe list of stuff i need to buy

Stuff to buy to get me going
1.secret jardin growtent dr 80
2.400w light with ballist
3.5 inch rhino pro carbon filter
4.extractor fan

you will definitely need a ph meter. bungee cords are good for hanging things in tents. chain you will need for hanging your light and also a way to adjust the height. also if you only get one ballast you will need a conversion bulb. for example, my first set up was a 400w hps w/ a 400w mh conversion bulb for veg. that should get you started but your list will not end there trust me.

Sounds like a great setup! Before you get underway procure a few things:

-PH tests/tester for your water. (Can be a simple fish aquarium test up to a fancy digital PH meter.)
-PPM meter for your hydro reservoir. (If applicable.)
-PH test for your soil. (If applicable)
-Veg+Bloom fertilizer pair.
-GOOD seeds or clones. Really, don't waste time with crap, if you put all the time and money into it get the goods!

what type of system are you going to use? we might be able to suggest a good medium/nutrient line up for you to work with as well.

Thanks for the replys the system im going to be using is soil in plant pots nothing fancy im getting some cuttings off somebody i know and also is it vital to use different bulbs for different stages of the procces eg veg or is it fine to just use the same 400w bulb straight through i know people who grow it but dont realy want to ask them as i dont want no one to no im growing it

mh bulb for veg
hps for flowering

some people say you can use a hps straight through and you probably can but most hps bulbs are more orange in spectrum. a mh bulb would be better for veg as it has a better light spectrum for veg.

If budget is a concern you can veg w/ HPS, I do....I supplement w/ some 27 watt CFL's and my plants are happy.

If budget isnt, then Id get a conversion light.
