Those vines are looking great. The sun is touching mine up just a little. I have lots of blooms and the first baby pumpkins.

Looks like the winner to me. I guess we have until Halloween to know for sure.No one boasting about their pumpkins...? This is my first time growing pumpkins, it's been fun watching the one. Got it in a 45 gal pot, this thing drinks a serious amount of water. It's gaining visible size daily and just now starting to get some orange hues. It's a Dil's variety, mine definitely won't be an example of a giant pumpkin. It's only about 18" to 20" across. Should have another 6 weeks of growing weather, maybe more if I can fight off the PM.View attachment 3768191
I grew a few cantaloupes this year. But my "good" ones were softball sized. The not so good ones were baseball sized. Still good though. I ate a bunch of them in the garden.they all look great.. i've never grown pumpkins as i don't really have that much yard to dedicate to them..
did grow some cantaloupes from seed this year that really took off and did great, i was super happy with the results, considering i just sowed the seeds right into the garden, late and all.. just had my first one for dinner tonight..
I can't imagine how big mine would be of I had got a normal start. I ordered the seeds from Nichols Nursery in Albany. Took 10 days to get here, I could have driven an hour and pick them up...arrgghh. Then it took almost 2 weeks to germinate???? Finally I got a few going by July 1. I'm gonna try and grow a monster next year.I'll be on it next year my man just got my giant pumpkin seeds !!!
I didn't have any giant seeds, but I bought some of the big pumpkin seeds from a local shop. None of them had come up in a week, so I replanted. Maybe I should have waited. My other big pumpkin seeds from the Farmer's Co-Op were up in 4 or 5 days.I can't imagine how big mine would be of I had got a normal start. I ordered the seeds from Nichols Nursery in Albany.
