Hi all,
I'm a student of engineering, but I'm trying to be a farmer. I have a secure though small grow room. I live in two acres of land, which at the back of lies some prime spots for growing outdoors.
I am working with my collection of seeds, most if which were quite moderate to fair to smoke, with ages of probably up to two years. Will the plants resemble their mothers seeds?
About my grow room, it is a small isolated cellar of sorts accessible only by outdoors. 50sq ft and 4 ft ceiling. I have obtained one compact flourescent bulb, and have made myself an acceptable reflector. I have 4 seedlings started. at about 2in in 5 days.
My plan is to get my plants to the "right" age and transplant them into the ground. I could keep raising plants in my room, and transfer them out maybe three or four a time. What is the right time in age or growth that i should transplant?
What should I do with my grow area? It is a very low lying area that holds alot of moisture. The dirt seems great, kickin into it, worms were present, and it passed the pinch test. Should I transplant into something special: fertilizer, loam? Will too much water hurt the plant?
I'm hoping to have a strong harvest of maybe 20 plants. Any help is really appreciated and will be met with a reply. I;m pretty stoked and motivated to get this whole thing goin. Roll it up, I want to hear any good suggestions, precautions, or tips.
