While there is evidence that leads you to believe that their could be hat men, the majority of the evidence, i.e. what we know about human physiology, points to this being a case of light/perception. So much of what we understand about the universe would have to change to be able to accept the presence of "hat men", while nothing would have to change for us to conclude that your senses were playing tricks on you. From that string of logic alone, you must discard the hat men idea.
You will find that to be true with a lot of theories that seem "awesome" and "fringe". Like planet X...or a great many conspiracies.

I know the hat man, though Ive never feared him, I actually beleived it was my uncle just chillen around. I kinda have a hat like that so maybe one day I'll be a shadow man. Watch out kiddies lol Im going straight for the stoners. lol.

We also know that shadows are created when something blocks light.
For the hat men to be real, we would have to assume that, while shadows are generally only created by the blocking of light, they are also created by hat men.
We would have to alter an entire law of nature for the hat men to exist, but to reach the conclusion that it was a combination of anomalous light and perception we need only embrace what we already know about the universe. So you see, as much as you feel the truth of your experience, logic tells another story.
First consider the credibility of the people reporting encounters. They are almost always uneducated, rural people, of no standing in their communities.
Next, consider that we already know that a huge amount of money goes into aerospace research. It is not at all unlikely to consider that either the government or one of the large private companies have built and tested machines that we are completely unaware of.
I am not saying that it is not aliens, I'm just saying that there is evidence available that points elsewhere, while there is only speculation that points to aliens.

Right, but where does that belief come from? You just believe it, out of thin air. You have faith that it is there, but only because it is a place where all these other theories can make sense.
And even if there is such a place, we live in a place where physics do apply, so it would have no way of interacting with ours.

i think humans are fascinated with the unexplained and upon any type of unexplainable situation we come across it being a shadow, a craft in the air we as humans our brains start immediately trying to make sense and start putting together conclusions based on knowledge gathered throughout our lives,the mind plays tricks on you and me however you interpret is you I'll go with logic,but shit if you think you see shadowmen I only got one question why the hat?????
