MMMMmmm I think I want back in the box!:? .lol. Lotsa good info there dude, thanks. this is interesting. haha wouldn't it be crazy if the roots started poking up out of the soil? Opps wait i'm steppin out of the box agian.lol.

Maybe we will get lucky and someone will do a little experiment with this. I would but I already cut back from doing a small sog with 15-20 plants down to just these 2 so I can't really afford to mess up too bad, not that this doesn't have the chance to fuck up, but I've read about medical growers who have a low plant limit doing this method to increase yeild per plant, I think it should go alright.

I'll try to get some more updated pics today or tommoro.

Alright a little update!!.

The last pics were day 2.

DAY 3--- the new growth started yellowing a bit from the edges. I'm thinking from the transplant and dizziness lol from being turned on thier side.

Also trained the lower branches upwards. they proped up nicely aginst some other branches. They also haven't had a feeding since a week before turning, but were still wet from transplant so I foliar fed them with a weak 20-20-20 plant prod fert.

DAY 4---yellowing hasn't really progressed much. picture 2.

DAY 5--- watering and feeding day. I noticed the veg ferts I have had alot of stuff settled on the bottom of the container and with all the shaking and stiring it wouldn't dissolve so I tossed it.

Decided to go with a 50/50 mix with the 20-20-20 plant prod and the flowering fert Flora nova. I also added a couple tsp of mollasses. Maybe it'l feed that compost a little.

DAY 6--- Finnally picture day! LOOK LIKE A 2 PLANT SOG!!!

The main stock on both of them are starting to lift themselves so they will get tied down today.

Some more pics. Probably noticed in some o the pics our little gnat eater CUJO sitting near the clones on top of the garbage cans. there are also a bunch of youngin's down on the floor, these are for outside, we have a bunch outside but they are all DEAD!!!!! THE FREAKIN RIVER IS HIGH! It's usually never ever gets this high aside from spring thaw, it may even flood it has gone up 10 ft plus and drown our babies.

Also had a few days of wicked storms here, some tornados 1 hour to the west. here some pics of the craziest lightning show ive ever seen in my 29 years. it was 99% sheet lightning but it never quit. was like a strobe light, there must have been ppl having seizers.

Number of reasons, mostly an experement. I think the biggest gain I will get out of this is gettin good light coverage on all the branches. the conpy hieght is only about 1.5 feet whereas if they were upright they would be 3 feet plus by now and the light would have to penetrate alot deeper to reach lower branches. This kinda acts like topping or fim tech as the even light dis makes all the branches grow like a top, it looks more like a scrog than a sog. the last 2 plants I grew were str8 up and I had the 150 watt hanging beside for supplemental but then I had to turn them all the time to even it out. pita, lol. This way I have 400 watt total but spread out a bit. I also heard that light waves can come together and multiply? not sure about this tho.

What would happen if a horozontal plant like these would get even light from top and bottom? If gravity is out of equation, would it randomly pic which leaves turn up or down ,or just by proximity?

How about this. Place the light across the room(or on a stand) at the same vertical height as the plant. Think direct overhead light turned 90 degrees. if cenetered in the middle of the main stalk, it should answer the gravity ?, no?

I*L---- PI

where P is plant, L is light and I equals opposite vertical walls of the room

I get ya. that would be a good 1 to try. Right now I have the 150 watt over the original top of the plant just a little ways away and it seems the tops are still curving favoring the 250 that is lighting the mid to lower (nearer to soil) branches of the plant. Would kinda suggest light intensity favorability actually looking at the pics agian it's hard to tell b c you can only really see the first plants top properly the other 1 favors the 250 a little more. but I think your idea is a good test, just need someone to try it for us . Ne1? ol.

It doesnt really matter which how you place the light, the leaves will turn to automatically face the most intense light source, so if you had one top and bottom at even distance from the main stem the leaves on the top side would turn to face the upper lamp and the bottom would face the lower lamp, either side probably wouldnt be aware of the light from the other side as the other leaves would be shading it.

I did well from my sideways grow getting the most from one plant to-date.

hey.

good going with this grow.

i love when someone does a new experiment with the ganja.

cant wait til its done!!

good luck yo!

Thanks for the props guys, yeah it's seems your right NGT about the light intensity etc. I believe it!!!

thanks for the rep willie!! Only 8 weeks plus a few days to go lol. I'll probably change over in a few. just want to get it used to the tie down of the main stem today, it was starting to rise to almost 45 degrees already.

I have to say, I'm not usually into strange new things, but this really seems like an interesting idea. Does it end up like a really LST'ed plant with a shit ton of medium sized buds instead of few big heads?

I did LST on my first grow and it turned out to yield a good amount even though it didn't look impressive. I'm thinking you might end up in the same boat. To tell you the truth, the cure was easier, the jars filled just the same and the weed is terrific.

I hope this works out for you. I don't know how I could do the same thing with a hydro grow and I refuse to go back to soil. I'll definitely keep myself posted.

I've done a little lst before but nothing substantial exept for 1 that was more high stress training.(pics grown under 150 hps) I also have zero experience with hydro so I ouldn't have the slightest idea on that. In someways I think this might be a little less stress on the branches at least most of them are growing the same as they would if done normal, just all equal all getting even light., as tho they were all tops, who knows maybe they will be huge colas.(hopefully lol).

Small update. the yellowing that was happening in the days after transplant has mostly gone away:joint: , it's starting to tell me it's gettin ready to switch to 12/12. Probably not tonite but maybe tommoro night will be the first 12 hour night. It's gonna have to be soon as a couple branches are getting away from the rest, goona move light a bit just in case it's cause there in a sweet spot.

looking good man! i knew this was a good idea once i saw it... one question though...
will the sideways plant hold the weight of all the buds that will be forming? we will find out i guess...

i'm sure the plant will make itself strong enough to support it's own weight, no?

i don't think there should be ne problem with wieght, all the branches were partially supercropped during veg, just the twisting of the stems between your fingers till the inside hurd breaks kind. They seem pretty strong, as for the main stock it's also very strong even on it's side, after a couple days it raised itself from horozontal to 45 degees. If it drops i'll have to prop it up I guess.

Constantly turning the plant while on it's side is an interesting idea, Would work best if there were lights on top bottom and sides but that would kinda defeat the pourpose on turning them. Right now all the lower branches growing up next to the top branches.

Well I will probably start the 12/12 today and I was just going to throw this out there. I will be using a flora nova one-part bloom. 4-8-7. I usually just kinda read the plants to see what they need but i've never had nutrients that listed the ppm of different dosages, just 3ml per litre etc. This stuff reads...

1/2 tsp/gal 300 ppm ec/ms.7
1 tsp/gal 600 ppm ec/ms1.3
2tsp/gal 1200 ppm ec/ms 2.5
3 tsp/gal 1700 ppm ec/ms 3.6

I've seen great results from this stuff, same bottle actually different grower but ne way I just though maybe someone would have a good idea what to start at. I know I have an 8 week flower period and this should probably be ramped up through out untill fluch etc.

I'll probably start at around the 400-600 ppm mark and see what gives. Ne suggestion are more than welcome.

I'll also try to get some updated pics in today yet.

Pic update!

Looks like the transplant shock/needing of some nutes if all gone and good. heres some pics from 3 days ago vs today as far as yellowing goes and the side view of the main stock being tied down, and a good look at all those nice little sog type branches.
I'm havin trobls uploadin pics.... later
