The Smells of our Strains

I've been reading around the forum, looking for info or comments on the smells of different strains on thru flower and harvest. Some would like to keep the smells to a minimum so i was looking for some docile strains. I realized that it's not really mentioned much by RIU members or seed companies. SO...:idea: this is what i'm asking, if you have a few minutes and have grown out a crop, please leave a few comments about it's growing smell's and flavor's, you can even post a pic and show it off! I and hopefully others could find the info helpful in picking stealthy strains or just to have something to gander at while making our christmas lists! Sometimes when you gawk at some of those bud candy photos, you just wonder what it would be like to walk into a room full them! :weed:

:leaf::leaf::leaf:Thanks for your help!:leaf::leaf::leaf:

This was some Iranian Autoflower from Dr. G
IMG_1371.jpg

They were finished outdoors, but the last 2 of the 4 weeks they were under 24/7 veg indoors got strong! They really smelled like a skunk had been creeping around. Turned on the ONA fan and that fixed it. Transplanted to a far away spot and left them. 8 weeks later, thru a 3 week drought and 106*-113*F heat wave, they made it! They smelled like a roadkill skunk 50 feet from any direction and cutting them made it 3 times worse! I wouldn't recommend this to anyone that would worry about neighbors and smells, and it is an outdoor strain, but i would definitly recommend Iranian Autoflower!

Strains often develop in scent as they flower, my Homegrown Fantaseeds-Armageddon went from Lime corona>Sprite lemon lime> 7 up> Lime skunk im going to harvest in 4 weeks, i cant wait to smell it after a good cure, the lime scent of this bud is truly intoxicating, best smelling citrus phenotype i've grown.

As a new grower a few years back, I was concerned about smell. You want to be stealthy and there tends to be a bit of paranoia at the start. But after a few years growing and researching I think I can say with confidence that if you set up your grow area with proper ventilation and odor control, you will be fine. Now i prefer the mure pungent strains. Ive grown big bang, pineapple express, and kandy kush and all three of those reaked. The last two in a 4x4x8 closet under a 250 hps with a 130cfm exhaust fan carbon filter combo vented into the attic. As long as the area was closed you could NEVER smell a thing. As the vapors enter the attic and escape through the roof vents outside whatever smell is left dissapates into the great outdoors. I live in a two story home and from what I understand vapors lighter than air go upward. I have walked around the neighborhood doing sniff test to make sure I was ok. The point I am tryin to make is dont worry about smell of the cannabis and be concerned with your odor control. There are a few strains that are considered low odor like northern lights to name one. But you will be limiting your selections by going this route. Personally I think the smell is one of the best things about weed. But hey you gotta be comfortable so do what suits ya! Happy growing!!!

props for that last one, I was kind of wondering about the whole scent phenotype, Recently I got the go ahead from my roommates to start a small grow, and I want to extend my gratitude and show a little respect by not skunking them out. so doing, limited research on available strains I started to wonder If "candy fragrance" is really perceived as candy? or is it some sort of terminology used by breeders?

Dinafem Sweet Deep grapefruit smells like nothing until you put your nose up to the buds. No WEED smell to be found. it is fantastic for stealth grows because it smells like ruby red grapefruit. Amazing high as well

I keep searching for a strain that smells and tastes like pussy. Well, there was cat piss, but that is like OLD pussy, and who wants that?
