The 'Thankfull I Got A Jobby-Job' Thread

Employment is getting as scarce as good weed(unless you grow of course!), yet i constantly see people complaining about thier jobs. even worse, theres people doing thier jobs halfassed like there arent a dozen more qualified people out there willing to do it for them.

so this thread is for everyone who is gratefull they are employed. lets hear what your doing for that money, how long youve been doing it, and if youve had to jump through your own asshole to stay employed in these trying times.

ill start...

ive been a residential painter for a dozen years or so but lately noone wants thier houses painted, or at least wants to come off the money to do so. i started painting asphalt plants instead. need roads despite the economy and asphalt plants need to be painted so they dont rust and fall apart. ive had to take my show on the road, im gone 4-5 days at a time but im working.

my jobs a joke right now, cos we're underperforming (sales in a recession = difficult) a new TWAT of a manager has taken over our team and people r dropping like flies. But yeah im still greatful to have a job

People are complaining due to the economy because they have people who come into their work and whine about having to spend money on they're products. Shit costs money, people need to get over that, it ain't like it's a new rule or something. I work at a very expensive grocery store and I have no idea why people even come in and buy some of the shit we sell, we have an 8 ounce bottle of pure cherry juice for $13.99, FOURTEEN DOLLARS FOR A BOTTLE OF JUICE! that's fucking ridiculous. needless to say we don't sell much of that but still, we also have a 16 ounce bottle of maple syrup for $13, I just don't see how people can spend that much money on it, and it's store brand at that... but believe it or not it flys off the shelf.

hit up construction sites too. not union sites, its a waste of time. but we hire guys that walk up on our sites all the time. sometimes its only for a few days, but money is money.

yeah, some aldi stuff is foul, but alot of thier stuff is great. you just have to know what to get there and what to get elsewhere.

Must be nice, random strains of dro go for 60 an 8th here. I'v only had medi bud one time and due to that one time i can't smoke anything else, just doesnt do the trick anymore so i'v quit smoking until i can either grow or find some med bud.

I have short term disability insurance that comes out of my pay check every week. About a month ago I had to take a month off for surgery, the short term disability ended up only paying me $320 for right around 4 weeks of being out of work. I'm cancelling half of my insurance within the next few days and just keeping the medical, Biggest waste of money ever. I finally went to work last week, got called in the last day of the pay period and worked 3 and a half hours, which will cover my $33 that they take out just in insurance, I feel like a fool for going in Hope you get better soon.

I already have 2 degrees and having a hard time finding a part time job with that, it sucks!!! People are stingy, which when I start growing i'm not selling a fucking dime to anyone. I'll grow for myself and maybe hook my dad and bro up with some but everyone else can get fucked. I'v been fucked so many times on deals by "friends" that I don't even associate with them anymore. Weed is supposed to be a giving plant, not a over charge everyone to make a dime plant, if you get what i'm saying. But i'v had it with people in my area, the dealers i know should be car salesmen.

i'm sort of in between working and not.. i dont know what you would call it.. but heres the outline of it..

been a chef since i was 18... at least thats when i consider that i got the training to call myself one..

i'm starting a new restaurant... in my area.. i got the investor lined up for the money... partners are chosen.. the building is picked but needs a LOT of work.. its an old building.. protected by the city.. cant be torn down type building.. putting about a million into fixing it... working on a menu... recipies... kitchen layout.. dining room layout.. bar lay out... hiring and training of staff.. both front in back of house.. ect ect ect...

so i dont know... in a way, yes, i'm employed... but right now i dont actually work... make sense??
