i'm sort of in between working and not.. i dont know what you would call it.. but heres the outline of it..

been a chef since i was 18... at least thats when i consider that i got the training to call myself one..

i'm starting a new restaurant... in my area.. i got the investor lined up for the money... partners are chosen.. the building is picked but needs a LOT of work.. its an old building.. protected by the city.. cant be torn down type building.. putting about a million into fixing it... working on a menu... recipies... kitchen layout.. dining room layout.. bar lay out... hiring and training of staff.. both front in back of house.. ect ect ect...

so i dont know... in a way, yes, i'm employed... but right now i dont actually work... make sense??
sounds awesome. best of luck. let me know when reservations are.

I still manage a car wash. People still love clean cars so I think I'm good for awhile. Tips have significantly went down though. Its tough on my guys. I am thankful to have my job. Not to mentoin the economy I have eight felony convictions to contend with. So yeah I'm lucky to have my job.

i feel ya with the felony thing, it was one of the deciding factors when i started my own business. nobody will hire a felon when there is a non-felon equally qualified. now i do my best to hire guys in the same position i was in.

tim- i gotta ask...8 convictions and you still rock you avatar as proudly as you do? i refuse to be naked just cause im a felon, but you wont see any proof that in not untill its too late.

I am very grateful for any work I can get. I work general construction. I can do it all, from sheetrocking, flooring, electrical, plumbing, to just about anything. I can't stand painting though. lol. Good thing we have a RIU painter available. Everyone take it easy and keep your head high this fine Labor Day, or lack there of (no joke intended).

it's actually the second restaurant i've opened.. except this is a much larger sized restaurant... 3 floors... 2 of which are indoor... and 1 on the roof of the building with a really nice view/scenery... if i can get it affordable i want to make it a 4 seasons room with a closeable roof for the cooler months... but i think it would be really cool to sit out there and eat...

but sure.. i invite all of my fellow RIU'ers to come when i open... it'll be a while.. but ill make sure to post something so if you do happen to ever make it this way (midwest.. as much as i'll divulge for now) and stop in for dinner, it will be on the house... a secret code or something.. i like in a town were people talk and word gets around.. so i have to maintain appearances.. i'd be shunned if the community knew i was a stoner.. bongsmilie

Yes it is illegal to certain firearms by a felon. I'm not a dangerouse person and choose to use mine I'm a sporting kinda way. Like the shooting range. And there is no way mr government is gonna tell me because of past mistakes that I can't protect my family. I live in the city where kick door dummies commit murder almost daily so I'm willing to take my chances. As long as I am able to watch my kids grow up safely I'm happy.

A-fuckin_men to that. It just kills me that if I were to get busted growing and they found my guns, I would be labeled a bad person, guarding my "drugs" with loaded firearms. Thats just bullshit. I'm not hurting anyone....that is, unless they come through the window at night.

You as a felon can legally own black powder rifles. And can talk to a judge if you wanted to own more. It all depends on your origanal charges of course. If you pay that money they can give you permits to own them. It all depends on your past though.
