o ight manI said I have never done a side by side using the GO line of nutrients. I just started using that lineup last crop.

we all explained what it does...and it causes the tree to go into a fight for survival causing it to ferment...when drowning u ferment the carbs and sugars...almost like a jar cure without the jar...so u should see the diff. in taste, quality, and high cuz its been cured longer/betterI've done flush and no flush and seen no difference in any part of the plant incl the roots. I'm flushing when the plant is near the end of its life cycle. I don't care about stress. In fact, I think it is the stress that prompts the plant to squeeze out the last of thc. I add 1 teaspoon per gallon (DWC) of raw honey. I think I'm getting better taste and yield with this as opposed to running nutes right up till chopping.
Then you missed all the important stuff.I jumped to the end,......
You don't smoke the roots.I personally don't see how you get a good flush in soil without removing the plant from the pot and largely rinsing the roots clean.
There are many more compounds in an organic soil than there is in a lifeless hydro system, that's what accounts for the flavor difference. It's no different than comparing the pink/hard hydro tomatoes at the grocery store with a fresh juicy vine ripened tomato from your neighborhood veggy stand. There is no comparison in the quality. Same goes for weed in my experience. Nutrient companies are beginning to make strides in this dept though, and I expect that within the next ten years hydro quality will have improved greatly, until then it's soil for me.I jumped to the end, but IMHO flushing does indeed work.
I grow in hydro - aero/nft with net cups and no medioum. When I flush I start with clear water and a cleaned filter. Within a day, I can see the water dark again. I flush it out several days in a row and I can see the roots lighten up in color and the water remain mostly clear at the end.
One thing I always hear as a hydro grower is that organic, soil grown weed tastes much better. Why is that? Possibly, because you are smoking actual shit and other organic matter in the weed? I prefer to taste the actual cannabis, not the medium it was grown in. As Hank Hill says, "Taste the meat, not the heat".
I wonder if the "myth" factor comes just from dirt growers. I personally don't see how you get a good flush in soil without removing the plant from the pot and largely rinsing the roots clean.
Your tomato example has nothing to do with hydro vs soil and everything to do with ripe vs. unripe. Same goes for the peppers or the avocados or the mangos etc, etc. They're picked prematurely to 'ripen' in the store. It's no different than comparing the pink/hard hydro tomatoes at the grocery store with a fresh juicy vine ripened tomato from your neighborhood veggy stand. While you're correct that they're picked early and allowed to ripen during transport/storage, but that's not exclusive of hydroponic tomatoes. There are plenty of good quality soil grown tomatoes that are harvested the same way (many from mexico for example) and they look and taste fine, not as good as vine ripened, but fine nonetheless. I've yet to find a tomato labeled "hydroponic" that had the good color and complexity of flavor that their soil grown counterparts do (vine ripened or no). I'm not saying it isn't possible to grow good tasting tomatoes in a hydro system with chemical nutrients, but the vast majority are poor quality.Your tomato example has nothing to do with hydro vs soil and everything to do with ripe vs. unripe. Careful with how much molasses you use there, I've heard too much can cause your weed to caramelize when burning. I've never seen this myself, because I never exceed 1tb/gal but take it fwiw.Quick update on my drowning with molasses.... Hope you dont mind me posting a pic of my plant everyday till she is dead RM3?
So I added another 3 Tablespoons of Molasses to the mix so I have a total of 6 Tablespoons of Molasses to 3 Gallons of water. Now it looks like she is drowning is some Black Oil!!! She is getting yellow....she is pulling the "N" a lot quicker than I actually thought. These pics are taken this morning about 2 hours after my lights came on. I am also noticing the clawing affect of her leaves too.

Thanks for the info much appreciated, I guess I will see when its time to smoke.Careful with how much molasses you use there, I've heard too much can cause your weed to caramelize when burning. I've never seen this myself, because I never exceed 1tb/gal but take it fwiw.
As it is during the drowning I feel it will add fuel to the fire so to speck and cause a thorough cure...the sugars are converting to alcohol as long as you drown her to death it should make for some super cured bud...that's my hypothesis and from what I am seeing thus far it is right on track to what I envisioned occurring... If not for the drowning then I may be concerned as to wolverine's advice which is valid but not so much as we are making the plant ferment before it diesThanks for the info much appreciated, I guess I will see when its time to smoke.
Yeah I mentioned that to him before in my thread. It took me awhile to figure it out....LOLOff-topic, but I just noticed the giant wang in lumi's avatar.
