Its difficult to get a lot of votes when you aren't a nominee. While your statement is true, it fails to inform the readers that all of the names you mention were each their own parties nomination. Democrats had Obama, Republicans Had McCain, Libertarians had Barr, Nader had his own party, Baldwin had the Constitution party, and the green party had McKinney. Since McCain got the republican nomination , Dr Paul wasn't even listed as a choice other than a write in.

Getting extra from the gov means giving extra. And I didn't get shit. I was more thinking along the lines of how he promised to end the stupid drug war, get us OUT of all wars in the middle east, not into more and even libya. I was hoping he'd do like he said and get the fed out of legal medical states, he did for 2 seconds and then if you haven't noticed now the fed is bullying states into the fed way and right back to it's former intervention and worse.
I was looking for the big changes, not being bought out with shiny pennies so I'd forget about the big stuff. I got no pennies either,
I don't like everything Ron Paul plans as far as deregulation long term, but I do like he would set us back to the country we were in the past and then and only then can we work back to a better happy medium. The way things are now, doesn't work and can't be fixed with a band aid.

He didn't give me anything. I may have gotten a $400 BREAK, but I spent well over $3000 in SS. Will I see this ever? God no. Besides, I work in sales. obama added 10 trillion? interesting math. i could make an argument that 90% or more of that was due to circumstances beyond his control which were inherited. i'll give you 1 trillion based on the american recovery and reinvestment act, which will pay itself back over time as it is an investment.
and i would wager that you will see that SS back. besides, did you expect obama to end SS so you don't have to pay into it? tlk about unrealistic expectations.

I am taking care of my sick mother, it's the only way either of us can survive in this job market and economy. We both got jack shit from obama. Has he done -some- good (little) things yes, but you are way off on the big stuff. You may have an extra $400 and that's good for you, bad for our future, but maybe it's enough you can buy a new dog after the feds bust in and kill your dog if you happen to be the next person like this:

By taking credits in another year in which you did earn income. Its somewhat complicated over a forum and not on topic, ask a competent tax preparer about amending returns and using credits in other years. not all apply.

At the rate our national finances have been going, if we don't elect someone with a mentality at least in the right line of RP as far as fiscal responsibility real soon, america won't exist brother.

actually, it is $400 + $400 + $240 = $1,040. and yes, i do enjoy an extra grand and will enjoy it.
in fact, i invested that money into my grow. funny how $400 can be invested into materials which produce a plant worth its weight in silver.
i used the money obama and the democrats (and a few repubs) gave me to get my electric redone and buy a few lights. that investment has already paid for itself several times over.
we looked into buying a dog, but got chickens instead. they are much less work, a very small initial investment, and they lay 2-3 eggs a day. at that rate, they willpay for themselves in no time. plus, i get nutrition out of the investment.
amazing what a person can do when they do not spend their days looking for non-existent stickers on mailboxes that denote our utility for when the government induces an earthquake which causes a tsunami which travels 60+ miles inland over 3,000 foot mountain ranges and floods us. *chortles*

Edit: The annoying thing about SS is this: SS is supposed to be an optional thing. You are not required to join as it would be considered unconstitutional, but if I don't join I still have to pay in. Weird. Also, what would I be able to do without the SS card?
